TURN UP STEPS
Unpack the Total Access 1000 DSLAM ATMBCU card and
inspect for damage. If damage is apparent, refer to your
carrier or supplier for remedy.
Insert BCU card into Total Access 1000 chassis slot marked
BCU. To insert, hold the BCU card by the front panel while
supporting the bottom edge of the card. Align the card edges
with the quide grooves in the Total Access 1000 chassis. Insert
into chassis until the edge card connector seats firmly into the
chassis backplane. Lock the unit in place by pushing in on the
locking levers.
After inserting the BCU into the proper slot the Network LED
should be red and the Test LED should be green.
Once the other Total Access 1000 common equipment (PSU
and LIU) have been installed and the IMA interface has been
provisioned for the desired number of facility links, the
Network LED should be green which indicates that all IMA
facility links are operational. A yellow indication on the
Network LED means that some of the IMA facility links are
operational but one or more links are down. A red indication
on the Network LED means that all IMA facility links are
down.
