Introduction
This guide gives you the following information about the cPCIS-3100 series
6U CompactPCI sub-systems, including:
u System Features
u Product Overview
1.1 System Features
u System designed for 19-inch rack mounted or benchtop. Chassis is with
8U height.
u Mounting style can be front panel mounted or middle mounted.
u Drive bays and removable power supply are secured by door.
u Three 5 1/4 inches and one 3 1/2 inches drive bays.
u Force cooling system
Ÿ Three fans are used for cooling system and I/O boards. One fan is
push (taking-air-in) from the bottom and the other two fans are pull
(taking-air-out). The location of the push fan on the bottom side is
shift from center for cooling the CPU board (or system slot) in a most
effective way.
Ÿ Three fans are uses for cooling the redundant power supply and drive
bay. The two fans on the redundant PSU are push (taking-air-in). One
fan at the rear panel is pull (taking-air-out).
u Installed with front-accessed dual redundant AC power supply. The
maximum power can be 300W or 400W.
2 Introduction
u Board Space:
Ÿ Front access or rear access are all possible.
Ÿ The space for backplane is 6U height, 10-slot width
Ÿ The 10 vertical slots width is suitable for installing a backplane with 7
I/O slots and one system slot. The system slot can install with a CPU
module up to 3 slots (12HP) wide
Ÿ With versatile backplane options.
u Cost effective version without rear I/O options are available upon
request.
