1. Introduction
The On-Q/Legrand Telecom Surge Suppression Unit, P/N 363487-01, (see
Figure 1) provides supplemental protection for telecommunications
equipment from high voltage surges. It is designed to work with On-Q
Telecom Modules such as the P/N 1267062-01 (1x6 Basic Telecom Module),
P/N 364551-01 (1x8 Enhanced Telecom Module) and P/N 363485-01 (1x11
KSU/PBX Telecom Module), all of which can be directly mounted in any
On-Q style enclosure.
2. Description
The On-Q Telecom Surge Suppression Unit consists of a surge unit and a terminated ground lead. The surge unit
is approximately 1.5” x 1.5” x .75” in size, and the supplied ground lead has a female spade connector terminated
on one end.
NOTE: This product complies with General Approval NS/G/1235/100025.
3. Installation
A. Plug the surge unit into the 20
position interface connector on the
Telecom Module (see Figure 2).
The surge unit has a 24 position
connector with keying plugs
installed to ensure proper
connection onto the 20 position
interface connector. The surge unit
is not sensitive to orientation.
B. Connect the ground lead female
spade lug onto the male spade
connector on the Telecom Module.
C. Route the other end of the ground
cable to the ground lug of the
enclosure. Strip the ground wire and
secure it in the ground lug.
NOTE: Ensure that the enclosure is
properly earth grounded.
