RS-485 address: 0
Baud Rate: 2400
RS-485 termination resistor: O
Using the tables below, set the switches in accordance with the following:
The address of each device (camera) on the RS-485 network must be dierent.
The baud rate must be the same for each device on the RS-485 network.
The DIP switches 1 - 9, used for setting the address, baud rate, and protocol of the RS-485 network,
function logically in this way: ON=1 and OFF=0.
The camera is self-adaptive to the Pelco-P, Pelco-D and Private-Code protocols. You don’t have to set
the DIP switches for these RS-485 control protocol.
DIP switch 10 provides RS-485 end-of-line termination and cannot be set using the DVR interface. If
used, it must be set by opening the camera enclosure and manually setting the switch to ON.
To set the DIP switches manually, do the following:
1. Remove the lower dome cover from the camera by extracting the three screws.

3. Reattach the lower dome cover.
Step 2. Camera wall mount installation
The camera can be wall mounted to any indoor or outdoor solid wall using the appropriate bracket. Bracket
options are shown in the ALI-TS7012V 2.0MP HD-TVI 23x Zoom Outdoor PTZ Camera User Manual

NOTE
The wall must be thick enough to mount the expansion screws.
The wall must be strong enough to withstand more than 4 times the weight of the dome and its accessories.
1. Prepare the mounting surface for the camera.
a. Obtain the best fasteners for attaching the camera wall mount bracket to the mounting
surface. The fasteners must t the wall mount bracket.
b. Position the wall mount bracket in the location where you want to install it, then use it as a
guide to mark the location of the screw holes.

c. Drill four screw holes according to the screw holes on the wall mount.
d. Drill a 1-1/4” hole in the mounting surface between the mounting screws appropriate for the
camera drop and interface cables.
2. Secure the camera onto the wall mount bracket as shown below:
a. Clip the camera safety cable to the loop on the mounting bracket.
b. Route the camera drop cables through the wall mount bracket.
c. Rotate the connector of the camera housing onto the wall mount bracket.

Connect the drop cable to supporting devices:
1. Route extension cables for ground, power, video (HD-TVI and CVBS), alarms and RSS-485 between
the devices to be connected and the camera as needed.
2. Connect the camera ground cable to an earth ground. Follow local electrical codes for specic
requirements.
3. Connect the two camera alarm input drop cables to normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC)
alarm sensors, if needed.
4. Connect the camera alarm output drop cables to an alarm reporting device. See the Specications
section for interface requirements and the diagram below.

The alarm provides the relay output (no voltage), and the external power supply is required when it
connects to the alarm device. With a DC power supply (left diagram), the input voltage must be no
more than 12 Vdc, 30 mA. For AC power supply (right diagram), the external relay must be used to
prevent damages to the camera and avoid risk of electric shock.
5. Connect the camera HD-TVI video drop cable to an HD-TVI compatible ALIBI video recorder.
6. Connect the CVBS video drop cable to an NTSC video compatible device, if needed.
7. Connect the RS-485 drop cables to an RS-485 network if needed. Refer to the ALI-TS7012V 2.0MP
HD-TVI 23x Zoom Outdoor PTZ Camera User Manual available from your vendor.
8. Connect the 24 Vac camera drop cable to the 24 Vac power supply provided.
9. Apply power to the camera. When the camera powers on, an information display appears in the
video from the camera (see below). (NOTE: The image below shows only the information displayed.
A video image stream from the camera will appear in the background.)
Important information about the camera settings is shown in the system information display. See below.
System Information Description
SN The serial number of the camera.
ADDRESS The default communication address of the camera.
System Information Description
COM FORMAT
The communication settings of the RS-485 interface: baud rate (4 digits), data bit (1 digit) and
number of stop bits (1 digit).
PROTOCOL Protocol conguration for communicating with other devices.
FIRMWARE The version of the rmware.
HARDWARE The version of the hardware.
BUILD DATE The date when the software was compiled.
TILT SUCCESS The tilt function test was successful.
PAN SUCCESS The pan function test was successful.
If the address of your camera is the same as another camera on the RS-485 network, one of them has to
change. Also, if the communication parameters (COM FORMAT) are not the same as the settings on RS-485
network, they must be congured to match. Use the features with your control keyboard or recorder to
congure these parameters.
Step 4. Perform basic operations
Access the camera in either of the three dierent ways included below and verify that the manual Pan and
Tilt controls and Zoom, Focus and Iris lens controls function as expected.
Through the ALIBI recorder Live View display. In the Live View display, open the quick setting
toolbar and click the PTZ Control icon. In the PTZ Control menu, click the direction keys (p, q, t,
u) to point the camera in dierent directions. Click the Zoom +/, Focus +/, and Iris +/ to
verify the lens controls functions normally.
Direction keys
Through the PTZ Control panel in the recorder. In the PTZ Control panel, click the direction
keys (p, q, t, u) to point the camera in dierent directions. Click the Zoom +/, Focus +/,
and Iris +/ to verify the lens controls functions normally. Specic instructions for using the PTZ
Control panel are included in the ALIBI recorder user manual.
Direction keys
Using the PTZ control panel in the remote access interface to the recorder. Log into the
recorder remotely. Open the Live View display of the camera, and then click the direction keys (p,

NOTE: You can click the Preset95 call icon (see above) to open the camera OSD display. For more
information about using the OSD, refer to the ALI-TS7012V 2.0MP HD-TVI 23x Zoom Outdoor
PTZ Camera User Manual available from your vendor.
NOTE
If the camera is connected to an RS-485 network, motion and lens control functions can be controlled
with a PTZ controller. Refer to the ALI-TS7012V 2.0MP HD-TVI 23x Zoom Outdoor PTZ Camera
User Manual for information about supported PTZ Preset functions.
Step 5. Use the camera OSD to configure the camera
The on-screen display OSD menus are used to congure the video image setup, presets, patrols, time tasks,
patterns, motion, privacy zones, and alarms. Common setup tasks include conguration of the following:
Image parameters: Image parameters include focus, zoom limit, Day/Night mode, noise reduction,
sharpness, wide dynamic range, iris, gain, shutter speed, exposure, white balance, privacy and OSD
settings.
Presets: Presets are user-denable settings for pointing the camera at a specic eld of view. Each of
the user-denable presets can be programmed to use pan, tilt, zoom, iris, and other settings. When a
preset is called, the dome will automatically move to the dened position. You can modify, delete and
call each preset you dene.
Tours: Tours are composed of a combination of Presets that are called automatically and sequentially.
For each preset called, a congurable dwell time, the pause time for each preset, is applied.
Pattern: A pattern is a memorized, repeating series of pan, tilt, zoom, and preset functions that
can be recalled with a command from a controller or automatically by a congured function (alarm,
park, time task, or power-up). By default, focus and iris are in auto status when the preset is being
memorized.
Time Task: A time task is a pre-congured action that is performed automatically at a specic date
and time. The programmable actions include: preset 1-8, pattern 1-4, patrol 1-4, pan scan, tilt scan,
panorama scan, day/night mode or none.
Privacy zones are portions of the eld of view that are blocked (for privacy) or sensed for motion.
Refer to the ALI-TS7012V 2.0MP HD-TVI 23x Zoom Outdoor PTZ Camera User Manual available from
your vendor for a description of the camera OSD features.
