1.1Introduction

Thisusermanualcontainsimportantinformationaboutthehandling
oftheproduct.Inordertoensuresafetywhenusingtheproduct,
readtheusermanualcarefullyandfollowthesafetyinstructions.
Pleasenotethattheremaybesectionsinthisusermanual,whichare
notrelevanttoyourproduct,sincethismanualappliestoallexisting
modules(onthedateofprinting).
Ifyoufindthatthefontsizeintheprintversionoftheusermanual

Thismobilitydevicehasbeenconstructedforalargecircleofusers
withdifferentrequirements.

Somemaintenanceandsettingscanbeperformedbytheuser
orhis/hersattendants.Certainadjustmentsdohoweverrequire
technicaltrainingandmayonlybecarriedoutbyyourInvacare

ThisvehiclehasbeenclassifiedaccordingtoEN12184asaclassB
mobilityproduct(forindoorandoutdoorareas).Itistherefore

compactandagileenoughforindoorareas,butalsoabletoovercome
manyobstaclesinoutdoorareas.
1.4Intendeduse
Thisvehiclewasdesignedforpersonswhoseabilitytowalkis
impaired,butwhoarestillintermsoftheireyesightandphysically
andmentallyabletooperateanelectricvehicle.
1.5Regulations
ThevehiclewassuccessfullytestedaccordingtoGermanand
internationalstandardsastoitssafety.Itsatisfiestherequirements
accordingtoRoHS2011/65/EU,REACH1907/2006/ECandDIN
EN12184includingEN1021-1/-2.Itwasalsotestedsuccessfully
accordingtoEN60529IPX4astoitsresistancetospraywater,
andisthereforewellsuitedforweatherconditionssuchastypical
Europeanweatherconditions.Whenequippedwithanappropriate
lightingsystem,thevehicleissuitableforuseonpublicroads.
1.6Indications
Theuseofthispowerwheelchairisrecommendedforthefollowing
indications:
Theinabilityoragreatlyrestrictedabilitytowalkwithinthe
scopeofthebasicrequirementtobeabletomovewithinone’s
ownfourwalls.
Theneedtoleavethedwellingplaceinordertogetsomefresh
airduringashortwalkortoreachthoseplacesgenerallyto
befoundatclosedistancetothedwellingandwhereeveryday
businessiscarriedout.
Provisionofpowerwheelchairsforinteriorandexteriorareas
isadvisableiftheuseofhand-operatedwheelchairsisnolonger
possibleonaccountofthedisability,yetproperoperationofan
electromotivedriveunitisstillpracticable.
1.7Usability
Onlyuseamobilitydevicewhenitisinperfectworkingorder.
Otherwise,youmightputyourselfandothersatrisk.

thisproductissold.

Weestimateaservicelifeoffiveyearsforthisproduct,providedit
isusedinstrictaccordancewiththeintendeduseassetoutinthis
documentandallmaintenanceandservicerequirementsaremet.
Theestimatedservicelifecanbeexceedediftheproductiscarefully
usedandproperlymaintained,andprovidedtechnicalandscientific
advancesdonotresultintechnicallimitations.Theservicelifecan
alsobeconsiderablyreducedbyextremeorincorrectusage.Thefact
thatweestimateaservicelifeforthisproductdoesnotconstitutean

2.3Safetyinformationonelectromagnetic
interference
Thiselectricvehiclewassuccessfullytestedinaccordancewith
InternationalstandardsastoitscompliancewithElectromagnetic
Interference(EMI)regulations.However,electromagneticfields,
suchasthosegeneratedbyradioandtelevisiontransmitters,and
cellularphonescaninfluencethefunctionsofelectricvehicles.Also,
theelectronicsusedinourvehiclescangeneratealowlevelof
electromagneticinterference,whichhoweverwillremainwithinthe
tolerancepermittedbylaw.Forthesereasonsweaskyoutoplease
observethefollowingprecautions:
