CURT 12230 is a weight-carrying hitch designed for use with Lexus LS 400 vehicles manufactured between 1995 and 2000. It has a gross load capacity of 3,500 pounds and a tongue weight capacity of 300 pounds. The hitch is designed to be installed without drilling and uses existing weld nuts on the vehicle's frame. 1. Under the rear of the car, locate the exhaust mufflers on the driver and passenger sides of the car. The

mufflers are supported at the rear of the vehicle by flexible supports and brackets bolted into the chassis

with three 12mm screws per bracket.

2. Temporarily remove these brackets from the chassis on the driver and passenger sides of the car. Position

the hitch on the vehicle at the same mounting points. Remount these brackets at the bottom of the hitch

brackets on both sides of the vehicle. Mount the hitch using fasteners provided.
