TA-5223, Cylindrical Fingerprint and Keypad Lock
Quick Start Instructions
Step 1 - Remove lock from package. Install batteries in inside trim by unscrewing the
lever collar and removing outside cover plate and connect wire from outside
trim. Leave inside cover off until you have finished the steps
outlined below. Perform initialization procedure as follows:
- press “reset” button (located beside spindle on outside trim) for 5
seconds. Then while holding “reset” button depressed, pull up outside
cover and wait 10 additional seconds for a confirmation beep.
- Initialization should be complete.
Setp 2 - Install as per instructions in users manual.
Leave inside cover off until you have finished the steps outlined below.
Note: Lock comes with both 2 3/8” and 2 ¾” latch; choose either.
Step 3 – With door in open position, test lock operation as follows:
- depress inside lever, latch should retract smoothly
- lift outside cover up to expose the scanner glass, blue light should turn
on.
- Enter the default master code on the keypad “11111111”, the unit
should unlock allowing the outside lever to retract the latch.
Step 4 – Change master code:
- Lift outside cover (blue light should be on)
- Press “ 0 + * + 11111111 + New Master Code + New Master Code + #
“
- Close cover, then open it again and enter the new master code (the unit
should unlock).
Step 5 – Add a keypad code (all codes must be 8 digits long)
- Lift outside cover (blue light should be on)
- Press “ 1 + * + Master Code + new 3 digit user position number + new
user code + new user code + # “
- Close cover, then open it again and enter the new user code (the unit
should unlock).
Step 6 – Add a fingerprint
- Press “ 1 + # + Master Code + new 3 digit user position number + # +
present finger “ a beep will sound for a successful addition.
- Close cover, then open it again and present the same finger (the unit
should unlock).
Step 7 – Delete a keypad code or fingerprint
- Press “2 + * + Master Code + 3 digit user position number +3 digit
user position number + #”
Example of changing the master code:
Factory Default master code = 11111111
New (sample) master code = 22222222
- Lift outside cover (blue light should be on)
- Press “ 0 + * + 11111111 + 22222222 + 22222222 + # “
Example of adding a keypad code:
New (sample) 3 digit user position number = 001
New (sample) keypad code = 01230123
- Lift outside cover (blue light should be on)
- Press “ 1 + * + Master Code + 001 + 001 + 01230123 + # “
Keep a written record of all users entered into the lock
(see example below).
