GUARANTEE
In the majority of modern wiring installations the Timer
Switch can be substituted for the existing switch.
For multiway remote control the Timer Switch is fitted
together with the requisite number of ‘push to make’
switches MK List Nos. 4878 P WHI, 4848 P WHI,
4678 MCO or SAB, or 4885 WHI or RED.
An 'ON-OFF' switch such as List No.4870 may be
fitted at any point to act as an override facility to
provide continuous lighting for periods not exceeding
2 hours. Alternatively for indefinite periods of
continuous operation, the switch may be connected
across the SUPPLY and LOAD terminals of the Time
Delay Switch. A fuse-link is incorporated in the Time
Delay Switch and may easily be replaced from the
front of the switch.
The unit may be mounted in a BS 4662 plaster depth
wall box having a minimum inside depth of 15mm
using 2 fixing screws on horizontal centres of 60.3mm
or surface mounted using an insulated box MK List
No. 2160.

This product must be installed by a competent person
in accordance with the current editions of the IEE
Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and Buildings
Regulations. If in any doubt, consult a qualified
electrician. If you are in any doubt regarding the
application or installation of this product, please
contact MK Technical Sales Service Department,

WARNING: Ensure that electricity supply to the
premises is switched OFF before installation of the
Time Delay Switch is attempted. Typical installation
diagrams are shown for guidance overleaf.
The completed installation should be tested in
accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations by
a qualified electrician.
IMPORTANT: Time Delay Switch to be disconnected
before performing the Insulation Resistance Test
(i.e. Clause 713-04).
FUSE-LINK REPLACEMENT
The fuse-link is accommodated in a fuse holder which
is situated at the bottom edge of the Time Delay Switch.
A locking plate is attached to the rear of the base and
when fitted into the fuse holder, the fuse holder cannot
be withdrawn until the two fixing screws are slackened
off and the Time Delay Switch eased approximately
2mm from the wall.
To renew the fuse-link pull the fuse holder
downwards, remove the fuse-link and replace with an
MK 3A Fuse-Link List No. 630. Return the fuse holder
to the closed position (before re-tightening the screws
when a locking plate is in use).
