Installation & Commissioning Instructions

MK Electric K4039 is a long-range control unit designed to automate lighting based on movement detection. It supports up to two detectors with a range of 30m or 60m and features two independent volt-free relay outputs. The unit offers various modes of operation, including semi-automatic and fully automatic, and allows for customization of on and off delay timers. Installation is simplified with side or end cable access, and the unit can be used with or without a photocell.

7. With the room empty, ensure that there are no spurious
movement signals liable to cause interference. Check this
with ventilation and other machinery running. Possible
interference sources are: fans turning, flapping notices,
flashingfluorescentlights,runningwateretc.
1. SetallmodeswitchestoON.
2. Adjustthe timer controls to zero(fully anticlockwise). Relay 1
willtime out in 4seconds, Relay 2 in8 (if applicable) enabling

6. Leavetheareaandwaitfor the lights to turn off.Waita further
10 seconds then re-enter. Adjust the OFF range control
clockwise until the lights are switched on ONLY AS THE

5. Adjustthe ON range control clockwise to increasesensitivity,
ensuring all areas arecovered and thatthe lights arekept on
with minimal movement.
*When set fully anticlockwise the OFF range is equal to

8. Setthe MODEswitchtogivethe desiredfunctions. (SeeModes
of Operationover.)
9. Set the OFF DELAY controls as required - each control has a
range of 0 to 16 minutes. A setting of around 5 - 10 minutes is
usuallyappropriate.
Off Delay O/P1 relates to Relay 1 - Off Delay O/P2 relates to
Relay 2. Note that O/P2 commences to time out after O/P1 has
expired, therefore with O/P2 set to zero both circuits will time out
together.
10.Lockthedetector headintoposition before leaving(seedetector

WHERE TO FIT
A corner position often takes maximum advantage of the
detection pattern. Reflections from walls and ceilings will
increase performance further and extend coverage into non-
line-of-sight areas. The detector responds to movement
through glass therefore point away from thin partitions and
windowswhichviewontoactivity.
Itis generallyadvisabletoseparatethedetectorandcontrolunit
forconvenience of wiring and commissioning. Do not fit in roof
