1. Introduction
The On-Q/Legrand Enhanced Video Modules (see Figure 1) provide management and distribution of RF (Cable TV,
DSS, etc.) signals on coaxial cable throughout the house. The Enhanced Video Modules provide for distribution of
incoming cable service and a convenient interface between the satellite dish antenna and two receiver boxes. The
2x6 and 3x8 models have forward and reverse path amplification to provide unity gain throughout distribution. The 2x6
and 3x8 also provide for auxiliary inputs, such as CCTV or modulated media center input, which are combined with
the cable distribution. The modules can be mounted directly in any On-Q style enclosure.
2. Description
The On-Q Enhanced Video Modules have “F” style fittings for connecting all incoming and outgoing cables and power
input. The 2x6 Enhanced Video Module allows for 1 CATV input and 1 auxiliary input, while the 3x8 Enhanced Video
Module has two auxiliary inputs. The 2x6 and 3x8 Video Modules occupy 6 vertical inches of half the enclosure
width.
3. Installation
A. Mounting in enclosure (see Figure 2)
1) Align tabs on module with slots on rail of enclosure.
2) Insert tabs by angling module away from the back of the
enclosure and sliding forward.
3) Rotate the module and insert fasteners on module into
corresponding holes on rail of enclosure. (Plunger must be in
the pulled out position for fastener to engage hole.)
4) Push plunger in to lock module in place. Pull on module to
assure module is locked properly in place.
Note: Recommended location for Enhanced Video Modules is
upper right side, however modules may be mounted in any
available space (see Figure 3).
Note: Do not bend cable in less than about 2 inch radius.

B. Service Connection
1) Identify incoming service cable(s) and route to "Cable In" fitting(s) on
module. In routing cable, allow slack for bundling cables to the side.
Trim cable to allow loose loop of cable to the connection.
2) Attach an RG6 "F" connector to the cable. Connect to fitting on
module and finger tighten.
C. Satellite Connection
1) Identify cables from the satellite antenna and receiver outlets and
route to appropriate fitting. In routing cable, allow slack for bundling
cables to the side. Trim cable to allow a loose loop of cable to the
connection.
2) Attach an RG6 "F" connector to the cable. Connect to fitting on
module and finger tighten.
D. Auxiliary Input Connections (if applicable)
1) Identify cables for auxiliary inputs and route to appropriate fitting. In
routing cable, allow slack for bundling cables to the side. Trim cable
to allow a loose loop of cable to the connection.
2) Attach an RG6 "F" connector to the cable. Connect to fitting on
module and finger tighten.
E. Outlet Drop Connections
1) Identify cables from the outlets and route to appropriate fittings. In
routing cables, allow slack for bundling cables to the side. Trim cable
to allow a loose loop of cable to the connection.
2) Attach an RG6 "F" connector to the cable.
3) Remove terminator from fitting and connect cable to module and
finger tighten.
4) Place terminator on outlet after installation.
Note: Cables should all be marked to provide identification. Record room locations for cables from outlets
and auxiliary inputs.
F. Power Connection (if applicable)
1) Identify amplifier power cables and route to appropriate fitting. In routing cable, allow slack for bundling cables
to the side. Trim cable to allow a loose loop of cable to the connection.
2) Attach an RG6 "F" connector to the cable. Connect to fitting on module and finger tighten.
3) Attach an RG6 "F" connector to the opposite end of the cable. Connect to the amplifier transformer provided
with module.
4) Plug transformer into a standard 110 VAC outlet.
Warning: Damaged cable from the transformer may be hazardous and should be replaced.
Caution: Do not connect power to any other device or fitting. Connecting to other fittings may damage
attached products.
Note: No field serviceable parts inside module.
Disclaimer: On-Q recommends using RG-6 quad shielded solid copper cable in lieu of copper clad steel,
especially with applications that involve distributing DC voltages. Solid copper offers less DC resistance than
copper clad steel and thus less of a voltage drop. Many manufactures of 3rd party devices such as satellite
receivers' state NOT to use copper clad steel for this reason. Use of copper clad steel could result in voltage
drop significant enough to interfere with a DC voltage dependant device's operation. As in any RF or RF/DC
application, try to avoid excessively long runs.
