AFV (Air Foam Valve)
The AFV is a mechanical valve that controls the air fl ow into the
frother heads.
Typically on one-step superautomatic espresso machines,
the air is controlled by expensive air solenoids that become
clogged with milk due to a natural vacuum that can occur.
These solenoids then require a certifi ed technician to clean them.
With the Egro AFV if this natural vacuum occurs and milk is
sucked back up to the AFV it is an easy 3 step process to clean
the valve and you’re back up and running in no time.
We recommend that you clean this valve weekly to ensure that
the machine runs smoothly.
INTRODUCTION TO EGRO 5513
DEFINITION OF PARTS
Frother Heads
The frother heads are where the “magic” of milk
foaming and milk heating takes place. Steam is
used to heat fresh milk, transported from the
fridge through hoses to the frother heads (clear hoses).
Milk is delivered into the side of the top section
of the frother heads via the clear hose.
Steam is delivered into the top of the frother
heads via the pink hose.
Air is delivered to the side of the lower section
of the frother heads via the frosted clear hoses .

Bean Slides
Bean slides are used to hold the beans in the hopper
while you remove the hoppers for cleaning. Two are provided with each machine.
Cleaning Tablets and Milk Cleaning Solution
There are several different brands of coffee cleaning tablets and milk cleaning solutions
available. We recommend that you use either Urnex Rinza milk cleaning solution or Puro Caff
milk cleaning solution. When it comes to coffee cleaning tablets we recommend that you
use the cleaning tablets provided with your Egro equipment or the Urnex Cafi za Espresso
Cleaning Tablets.
