Filter Status Monitoring

Refer to the Installation Instructions
applicable to this boiler.
Remote Filter
Ensure that main power to the equipment being serviced
is off.
Ensure that the main fuel supply valve to the boiler is
closed.
Take precautions to avoid accidental activation of power
or fuel during service work.
Do not perform service work on any component part
without ensuring safe operation of the heating system.
When replacing parts, use original Viessmann or
Viessmann approved replacement parts.
Safety and Installation Requirements
Please ensure that these instructions are read and
understood before starting any service work. Failure to
comply with these instructions may cause product/property
damage, severe personal injury and/or loss of life.
Working on the equipment
The installation, adjustment, service and maintenance of
this product must be performed by a licensed professional
heating contractor who is qualified and experienced in
the installation, service, and maintenance of hot water
boilers. There are no user serviceable parts on the boiler,
burner or control.

1. Release latches on the end of the combustion air filter box.
2. Remove filter box cover.
3. Loosen the combustion air filter clamp (if the filter has
already been installed).
4. Remove the combustion air filter from the combustion
air filter box (if the filter has already been installed).
5. Remove the bolt from the filter and install the barbed
fitting. Using the supplied tube connect the barbed
fitting to the ‘-’ terminal of the pressure switch.
6. Using a screwdriver remove knockout in the side of
the combustion air filter box.
7. To wire the switch and set the switch pressure,
refer page 2.
8. Mount the switch to the combustion air filter box
using the predrilled holes

Preparing the Switch
Connecting to the Boiler
1. Verify pressure setting of the switch adjust if necessary
0.6 in w.c. (1.5 mbar).
2. Using the supplied cable connect the blue wire to the
‘COM’ terminal and connect the brown wire to the
‘NO” terminal.
1. Route the cable from the pressure switch to the BCU
(in the case of the CI2 1500/2000 make the
connection at the upper burner BCU).
Knockouts are provided at the rear of the boiler for
cable entry, connect to terminal X18.

Burner Filter
1. Mount the pressure switch to the boiler using the predrilled
holes below the BCU and screws provided.
2. Verify the settings of the pressure switch, adjust if
necessary 0.6 in w.c. (1.5 mbar). Using the supplied
cable, connect the blue wire to the ‘COM’ terminal
and connect the brown wire to the ‘NO’ terminal
(cable may be shortened if required).
3. Connect the other end of the cable to terminal X18.
4. Remove the bolt and install the barbed fitting on the
air filter. Connect one end of the supplied tube to the
barbed fitting. Connect the other end of the tube to
the ‘-’ terminal of the pressure switch.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the upper burner of the
CI2 1500/2000 when equipped with two switches.
