DESCRIPTION
The DV-IP Codec is a single channel selectable
encoder/decoder designed to increase the flexibility
of NetVu Connected CCTV networks. Its
versatility allows the user to choose whether the
unit operates as a single channel encoder or
decoder as the installation dictates.
ENCODER CAPABILTY
The unique DM ViSP technology allows the
encoder to transmit multiple simultaneous streams
of MPEG-4 and JPEG images at different
resolutions. This flexibility allows users to record
high quality images for evidence and watch
optimised streamed video at the same time, with no
loss in performance.
DECODER CAPABILTY
The DV-IP Codec in its Decoder mode gives the
user increased viewing flexibility by allowing
additional monitoring stations to be deployed
around the CCTV installation as and when
required.
The unit can support full and quad screen viewing
modes whilst multisite viewing and the automatic
detection of MPEG-4/JPEG streams ensures
the small form unit meets the latest CCTV viewing
requirements.
Either as a single monitor application or as part of a
larger video wall solution the DV-IP Codec is a
powerful addition to the NetVu Connected
family of products.
Although small and compact the DV-IP Codec
includes a range of advanced CCTV features
including; Serial telemetry, Pre-Alarm capability and
Integration opportunities using the NetVu SDK.
The DV-IP Codec is suitable for applications such
as corporate buildings, shopping centres,
universities and hotels. By utilising the power of
NetVu Connected technology, the DV-IP Codec
provides the gateway to interoperability across the
whole CCTV installation.
• The DV-IP Codec comes AnalyticsCapable, allowing the unit to be upgraded with a suite of
video analytics* such as ANPR, Object Left and Removed, People Counting and perimeter
protection. This is achieved via a simple software upgrade and license purchase through our
sister company D-Tec.
BS8418 Compliant*
• Compliant to the British Standard for Detector Activated Remotely Monitored CCTV Systems
• Only those security systems which have achieved the BS-8418 quality standard in the UK will
qualify for ‘Level One’ police response to alarms
• The DV-IP Codec is designed for use in bespoke customer projects, integration with third party
hardware and software is available through Dedicated Micros Software Development Kit (SDK) and
PowerScript
• The mode setting of the DV-IP Codec is user selectable allowing the customer to adjust
the unit to suit their requirements.

adjustable
Organic Growth
• Enables organic growth of a CCTV installation and migration to an IP network without the need to
replace existing network components such as cameras
Audio Help / Challenge
Point
• Bi-directional audio* enables the operator to use the DV-IP Encoder as an audio help point or
challenge / tannoy solution
Use of Existing IP
Networks
• Reducing the cost and time of installing a new network, the DV-IP Codec can utilise existing IP
infrastructure to stream video, audio and data – removing the need for additional cabling
• Use of IP allows the unit to be configured remotely removing the need for multiple site re-visits
NetVu ObserVer
MultiMode Recording delivers paradoxically higher record rates, without incrementally
increasing hard disk storage requirements.
• Recording can be tailored to meet the requirements of the customer, providing high quality
images when and where they are needed.
• Viewing client designed to provide all the functionality of a traditional viewing environment through a
PC
• Can display 36 different cameras from 36 different sites simultaneously on the same screen
• NetVu ObserVer shipped with all NetVu Connected products and available as a free download from
www.dedicatedmicros.com.
• Allows the unit to seamlessly integrate with other NetVu Connected products
