4 Productdescription

Aqua freehasdevelopedtheFLUSH2.0ushingsystem

toautomaticallyandindividuallyushwateroutletsthatare

rarelyusedorleftunusedforperiodsoftime.Itprevents

waterstagnationandthethreatofmicrobialcontaminationin

thepipes.

FLUSH2.0canbeeasilyinstalledonanytaps,showers

orotherwateroutletsinprivatehomes,publicbuildingsor

commercialestablishments.

Recommendations for ushing cycles and ushing

duration:

If drinking water pipes are ushed daily Aquafree recom-

mends a ushing duration of 5 minutes.

Howevertheprecisedurationdependsonthecrosssection

andlengthofthepipeandthewaterpressurealthough

referenceshouldalwaysbemadetonationalguidelinesfor

ushing.

IMPORTANT! Beforetheushingsystemisusedwitha

mixertaporsimilaritisimportanttomakesurenon-return

valvesaretted.

IMPORTANT!Pleasereadtheseinstructionscarefully.

Themanufactureracceptsnoliabilityforanydamagethat

occursbecausetheseinstructionsarenotfollowed.

Forfuturereferencekeeptheseinstructionsinthecase

withtheushingsystem.

CAUTION

Iftheushingsystemisconnectedtoalow-pressure

systemsuchasaboilerthereisariskofpressurebuild

up,causingleakage.

Beforeinstallingtheushingsystemcheckthewater

outletandassociatedpipework.Ifgasketsorjoints

aredamagedorunsecure,theadditionalweightofthe

ushingsystemcancauseleakage.

Thebatteryoftheushingsystemlastsforoneyear.

Thedateofthenextbatterychangecanberecorded

onthedeviceitselfusingthestickerssupplied.

Intheeventofbatteryfailurethevalvefailsafeposition

isCLOSEDandthe“DELAY”,“FREQUENCY”and

“RUNTIME”LEDsonthedisplaywillashrepeatedly.

Whenthebatteryischangedtheushingprogramwill

returntoitsdefaultsettings.Therequiredprogramme

shouldbere-enteredandthenre-activatedbypressing

theSETkeyforatleastveseconds.

WARNING

Iftheushingsystemisusedwithoutnon-returnvalves

beingttedorworking,anybackpressurefromthe

hotwatersupplyriskscontaminatingthewholeofthe

drinkingwatersupplysystem.

Non-returnvalvesshouldbettedonboththehotwater

andcoldwatersupplypipestothetap.

Theushingsystemshouldnotbeusedwithout

functioningnon-returnvalvesinplace.

7 Handling

Installation:

■

 Checkwhethernon-returnvalvesarettedinthepipes

supplyingthetap.

■

 Removetheaerator(fromtaps)orunscrewtheshower

hose(fromshowers)

■

 Toinsertthebattery,rstunscrewthetransparentcover

oftheushingsystemandremovetheblackbattery

coverbelowtheoperatingpanel.

■ Thenttheappropriatequick-tadapterwithsealing

gasket(thesetincludesthreedifferentadapters).

CAUTION

Ensurethattheadapteristtedtoaxedwateroutletsuch

asawall-mountedshowerorfree-standingtap.

Fittingattheendofaexibleshowerhoseisnotpermitted

becauseoftheuncontrolledoutowofushingwaterand

possibleresultantwaterdamage.

Whenthetransparentcoverisremovedtheunit

electronicscanbedamagedbywateringress.

Forthisreasonalwaysdetachtheushingsystem

beforeprogrammingitorchangingthebattery.

Ensurethatyoualwaysprogrammetheushing

systemandchangethebatteryinadryenvironment.

WARNING

Iftheushingsystemisusedwithoutnon-returnvalves

beingttedorworking,anybackpressurefromthe

hotwatersupplyriskscontaminatingthewholeofthe

drinkingwatersupplysystem.

Non-returnvalvesshouldbettedonboththehotwater

andcoldwatersupplypipestothetap.

Theushingsystemshouldnotbeusedwithout

functioningnon-returnvalvesinplace.

Connectthesnapcontactoftheushingsystemto

thebattery.Removetheprotectivelmfromthebatteryif

necessary.Oncethebatteryisinstalledthesystemperforms

asystemcheckinwhicheachoftheLEDsashesoncein

turn.

 Programtheushingdevice,ifnecessaryrefertosection

 Replacetheblackcoveronthebatterycompartmentand

screwthetransparentcoverbackintoplace.

■

 Emptythewashbasinandcheckthatthewatercanow

awayfreely.Fixthewaterlevelswitchtotheinneredge

ofthewashbasinwiththeoatpointingverticallydown-

wards.

■

 Wetthesuctioncupwithwatersothatitholdsrmlyto

thesideofthebasin.Ensurethatthecableisnothan-

gingdownandpullingonthesuctioncup.

■

 MoistentheO-ringoftheFLUSHcouplingwithwater(for

easierandsaferinstallation);thenpushthecouplinginto

theadaptorwithaslightturningmovementandlockthe

FLUSH2.0inplacewiththeU-clamp.Checkthatthe

ushingsystemisseatedsecurely.

 Turnonthetapandnowatershouldow.

■

 Carryoutatestush(seesection8.3)

Regularchecks:

Every4weeks:

 • Checkforpotentialblockingofthewashbasin.

 • Checkthatthewatercanowawayfreely.

 • Checkthatthelevelswitchiscorrectlypositioned,

securelyxedandtheoatabletomovefreely.

 • Ifnecessarypositionthelevelswitchandsuctioncup

correctly.Replacedamagedsuctioncupifrequired.

Every6months:

 • Checkthefunctionoftheushingsystem:testthema-

nualmodeofdrawingwaterandcarryoutatestush,

seesection8.3.

 • Replacethebattery,renewthebatterychangesticker

CAUTION

Theushingprogramcannotbeactivatedifthebattery

voltageistoolow.Inthiscasethe“DELAY”,

“FREQUENCY”and“RUNTIME”LEDsashandthe

batterymustbereplaced.

Ifthedrainisblockedorthelevelswitchwronglytted,

watercannotrunawaycreatingariskofoverow.

Makesurethatnoobjectscanobstructtheowofwater

andthatthewatercandrainawayfreely.

Ensurethatthesuctioncupiscorrectlyttedandsecurely

xed.

Checkthatthelevelswitchiscorrectlyoriented;theoatmustbeableto

movefreelyandmustpointdownwards.

8 Programmingtheushingsystem

8.1 Operatingprinciple

8.2 Defaultsettings

Thedefaultsettingsoftheushingsystemareasfollows:

 DELAY:  0minutes

■

 FREQUENCY: 24hours

■

 RUNTIME:  5minutes

Toactivatetheushingsystempressthe“SET”key

andholditdownforatleastveseconds.Successful

programmingisindicatedbytheashingofoneLED

fromtheleft-handrow.

TheLEDsareturnedoffafteroneminuteofinactivity.Ifone

ofthethreekeysispressedforthreesecondsthedisplayis

turnedonagain.

8.3 Examples

Thefunctiontobechangedcanbeselectedbypressingthe

“SET”keyrepeatedly.Therequiredtimescanthenbeset

withthe“+”and“-“keys.
