SWI-ADAPT
Introduction and Features
The SWI-ADAPT is used in conjunction with many PAC steering wheel control interfaces to allow for connection to most
radios that require 2 steering wheel control input wires (usually labeled as Key 1 and Key 2, or SW 1 and SW 2).
Note: The SWI-ADAPT cannot be used without an addtitional PAC steering wheel control interface. Use the PAC-AUDIO
website (https://pac-audio.com) for assistance in selecting the correct steering wheel control interface for your application.
Installation
1. Install the PAC steering wheel control interface to the vehicle following the instructions provided with the interface that is
being used as if it is being installed to a Pioneer radio.
2. Connect the 3.5 mm jack steering wheel output connector from the PAC steering wheel control interface into the 3.5 mm
jack input on the SWI-ADAPT. The Blue / Yellow wire from the PAC steering wheel control interface is not used.
3. For Panasonic radios only - Cut the Light Green wire in half approximately half way between the connector, and
where it connects into the Black wire in the SWI-ADAPT harness, and insulate the ends of the wires. For all radios
besides Panasonic, leave the Light Green wire intact.
4. Wire the SWI-ADAPT power, ground and steering wheel control output wires as shown below:

Additional Info
1. The LED should illuminate red when the ignition is on, and should ash when steering wheel control buttons are being
pressed. If the LED is not red when the ignition is on, check your Red wire and Black wire connections. If the LED is not
ashing when pressing steering wheel control buttons, check your 3.5 mm jack connection from the PAC SWI interface
to the SWI-ADAPT, and make sure the PAC SWI interface was set to operate a Pioneer radio.
2. Enter the radio's steering wheel control settings menu and program the steering wheel controls to the radio. Consult the
radio's owner's manual for detailed radio programming instructions.
