Loading the 24-position centrifuge rack
This information refers only to the use of 24-position centrifuge racks for 16 mm tubes,
and is an addition to the Maintenance section of the user guide.
When a Hettich stand-alone centrifuge and 24-position centrifuge racks
(RD ID 09194193001) are used, ensure:
• 24-position centrifuge racks are fully loaded for centrifuging.
• The racks are loaded manually.
• Balance tubes are used to fill empty rack positions.
All four centrifuge racks are of the same type and are not mixed with other centrifuge
racks in the original bucket.
Placing barcode labels on sample tubes intended for the 24-
position centrifuge rack
This information about the placement of barcode labels refers only to the use of 24-
position centrifuge racks for 16 mm tubes, and is an addition to the System Description
section of the user guide.
When a Hettich stand-alone centrifuge and 24-position centrifuge racks
(RD ID 09194193001) are used, ensure:
• No sample tubes covered with more than 3 layers of label are used.
• Labels run the length of the tube and are parallel to the tube edge.
• The labels are applied smoothly, without dog-eared corners, wrinkles, or edges that
stick out.
Supported tube size
The 24-position centrifuge rack only supports tube sizes of 16x110 mm.
