About the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh
System
Excellent wireless performance had always been the major requirement of homes
when it comes to having an extended wireless network which functions perfectly for
varying needs. And with the introduction of Mesh, seamless roaming from one point
to another has become one of the wanted features in extended networks and to be
able to tackle the Wi-Fi dead spots in our homes (especially with larger homes) with
efficient wireless performance and quality. With careful consideration to meet these
requirements, Aztech developed the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System, a
Dual Band Wireless-AC 1200Mbps Wireless Mesh Controller or Node, a device that
equips your home further with extended wireless flexibility and wireless performance.
WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System is designed as a mesh-ready wireless
device capable to function as mesh controller or node to extend the wireless
network in your home.
Amped up Speed for the Wireless Experience
WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System has a Dual Band feature which
enables users to connect their dual band wireless devices in either (1) the
2.4GHz band with wireless speed of up to 300Mbps, and (2) the faster 5.0GHz
wireless frequency band with excellent wireless speed of up to 900Mbps -
speed perfect for High-Definition A/V streaming, endless hours of lag-free
online gaming, and other bandwidth hungry applications.
Impressive Hardware Design
Aside from its compact look, the Aztech WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh
System is geared up with one (1) Gigabit Ethernet port designed to maximize
wired accessibility and also to ensure full compatibility even with wired
network requirements allowing this device to be a better option when it
comes to extending networks.

Involving zero complexity in its setup, the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh
System implements an intuitive design making the device easy to setup,

Connect Easily using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System is also designed with a Wi-Fi
Protected Setup (WPS) button which enables an easier means of connecting
WPS-enabled wireless devices with just a few button presses.
AON Mesh-Ready Controller or Node
WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System is an AON Mesh-Ready Controller
that is designed to be compatible with any mesh ready nodes to provide the
efficient roaming and wireless experience. This device is also AON Mesh-
Ready Node that is designed to be compatible with Aztech AIR routers or any
mesh ready router.
AON Mesh for Seamless Roaming
With AIR router, WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System provides
seamless roaming and using only one password and a single Wi-Fi network
name. It delivers improved coverage and to provide a spectral blanket
spread eliminating the usual “hard-to-get” areas such as blind spots.

Getting Started as Router
Setting up the device is fast and easy. The diagram below provides an outline of the
steps needed in order to complete the installation. Brief descriptions appear beside
each step. Detailed instructions are provided in the subsequent pages.

Plan your Extended Network
Before moving ahead to setup your network, it is a good idea to draw out a network
diagram to help identify your network devices and plan out how to connect these
devices.
Each port in the device can be used only as defined below:
Ethernet 1 Broadband Port
Ethernet 2 (Gigabit Ethernet Port) Laptop
To create a network diagram:
For wireless devices, identify the wireless devices you want to include in the
network.
For wired devices, identify which Ethernet port you want to use for each
device.

Remove/Disable Conflicts
To ensure that the router installation moves on smoothly, you need to remove or
disable conflicts that may interfere with the installation. Probable conflicts may
include:
Internet sharing applications
Proxy software
Security software
TCP/IP settings
Internet properties
Temporary Internet files
Internet Sharing, Proxy, and Security Applications
Internet sharing, proxy software, and firewall applications may interfere with the
router installation. These should be removed or disabled before starting the
installation. If you have any of the following or similar applications installed on your
computer, remove or disable them according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If
you have any of the following or similar applications installed on your computer,

Configuring TCP/IP Settings
Check if your computer uses the default TCP/IP settings. Follow the steps below to
check the TCP/IP properties:
1. Select Start > Run. The Run dialog box would appear.
2. Enter control ncpa.cpl on the input box, and then click the OK button. This
would open the Network Connections window in your computer.
3. Right-click LAN and then select Properties. The Local Area Connection
Properties dialog box would appear.
4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click Properties. The Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) dialog box would appear.
5. Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
6. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) dialog box.
7. Click the OK button to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog
box.
Configuring Internet Properties
Follow the steps below to set the Internet Properties:
1. Select Start > Run. This opens the Run dialog box.

2. Enter control inetcpl.cpl and then click OK to open the Internet Properties
window.
3. Click on the Connections tab.
4. On the Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings pane, select Never dial a
connection.
5. Click OK to close Internet Properties.
Removing Temporary Internet Files
Temporary Internet files are files from Web sites that are stored in your computer.
Delete these files to clean the cache and remove footprints left by the Web pages
you visited. Follow the steps below to remove temporary Internet files:
1. Select Start > Run to open the Run dialog box.
2. Enter control and then click the OK button to open the Control Panel.
3. Double-click Internet Options.
4. On the Internet Options window, in the Temporary Internet Files pane, click
Delete Cookies.
5. Click Delete Files.
6. Click OK to close Internet Properties.
Setup the Device
When installing the router, find an area near the ONT and near an electrical outlet
for the router.
a. Power ON your WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System by
connecting and plugging its power adapter to a power outlet.
b. Connect your ONT*/Cable Modem to the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi
Mesh System’s Broadband port using an Ethernet cable.
c. Connect PC/Laptop to the router through local Ethernet or wireless.

The Web User Interface
The Web User interface allows you to configure your WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi
Mesh System’s features.
Accessing the Web User Interface
To access your WMB260AC hole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System Web User Interface:
1. Launch any web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome).
2. Type-in 10.0.10.254 on the address bar and then press Enter. This is only for
stand-alone WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System.
3. If you have connected the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System to
a main router as Mesh Node, access the main router’s Web User Interface
and check the IP of the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System. After
finding out the IP of WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System, access
the Web User Interface of WMB260AC using that IP. WMB260AC Whole-
Home Wi-Fi Mesh System will be listed as WMB260 in your router connected
device list.
E.g. if IP of the main router is 192.168.1.254, the possible IP of WMB260AC
Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System can be 192.168.1.x
Web User Interface
The Web User Interface is subdivided into three (3) different categories:

The WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System has a top panel which displays a
representation of the Internet Status. A Reboot feature is also available in the top
panel for easier means of soft device reboot.

The internet status shows the different internet status. There 2 different statuses: Up or
Down.

A Reboot button is provided in the top panel for easy access of the reboot
function if there is a need to reboot the WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System
using the GUI without having to access the Advanced Page.
Navigation Panel
Allows you to access the General, Advanced and Management configurations of
WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System. This includes the basic and advanced
wireless network properties, view the connected clients and the administration
settings.

A. General
The General is the default page of the Web User Interface. It allows you to view the
operation mode, IPv4 address, internet status, SSID and System Uptime. The General
Tab consists of two sub-tabs:

Connected Devices
The Connected Devices Page shows the connected devices to the WMB260AC
Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System. It also shows the interface of the device.
WAN Setup
You can select Protocol as DHCP or PPPoE. If DHCP is selected, you have option to
set VLAN number. If the VLAN number is blank, VLAN not enabled.
If, PPPoE is selected, you will prompted to key-in PPPoE username and password as
well.

Wireless (Basic)
The Wireless Page allows you to set the basic wireless configurations of WMB260AC
Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System. In this page, you can change the SSID, Password
and set the Band Steering to Enabled or Disabled. The wireless settings of
WMB260AC Whole-Home Wi-Fi Mesh System will sync with the AIR router settings after
a successful mesh pairing.
To configure the Wireless Settings in the Wireless Page (Basic):
1. You may designate a new SSID or a Wireless Network Name for your wireless
network or use the same SSID as your main router.
2. Set the Band Steering:
a. Set to Enabled if you wish to see a single SSID. When Enabled:
o Your 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID name and Network Password must be
the same.
o Your device will either connect to the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands
depending on the distance your device from the WMB260AC.
o Connection to 5GHz is only for devices that support both 2.4GHz
and 5GHz.
b. Set to Disabled if you wish to see two separate SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
o SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz must be different
3. Click Apply to save the settings.

B. Advanced
Advanced Tab allows you to configure the Advanced Wireless settings and Wireless
MAC Filtering. There are two sub tabs for Advanced:
LAN Settings
Wi-Fi MAC Filtering
Port Forwarding
Port Triggering
Parental Control
MAC Filtering
URL Filtering
LAN Settings
In this LAN Settings page, you can set IP Address, subnet mask, and default gateway
of the Router.
You can also set if DHCP Server is active, start and end IP addresses.

Wi-Fi MAC Filtering
The Wi-Fi MAC Filtering page will provide additional protection to your wireless
network. It allows or denies Wireless Devices from accessing the WMB260AC Whole-
Home Wi-Fi Mesh System with the use of the MAC address which is unique for every
network device.
To add a MAC Filter in your 2.4GHz network,
1. Enable MAC Filtering by selecting Yes
2. Set the Access Rule to Deny to deny wireless to the listed MAC Address in the
MAC Filtering Table.
3. Add the client’s MAC Address by typing out the MAC Address of the client or
click on Add currently associated MAC stations.

By clicking the Add currently associated MAC stations, a device that are
connected to 2.4GHz will be added. If there is more than one 2.4GHz device
connected, one of those devices will be added.
To add a MAC Filter in your 2.4GHz network,
1. Enable MAC Filtering by selecting Yes
2. Set the Access Rule to Deny to deny wireless to the listed MAC Address in the
MAC Filtering Table.
3. Add the client’s MAC Address by typing out the MAC Address of the client or
click on Add currently associated MAC stations.
By clicking the Add currently associated MAC stations, a device that are
connected to 2.4GHz will be added. If there is more than one 2.4GHz device
connected, one of those devices will be added.

To add a MAC Filter in your 5.0GHz network,
1. Enable MAC Filtering by selecting Yes
2. Set the Access Rule to Deny to deny wireless to the listed MAC Address in the
MAC Filtering Table.
3. Add the client’s MAC Address by typing out the MAC Address of the client or
click on Add currently associated MAC stations.
By clicking the Add currently associated MAC stations, a device that are
connected to 5.0GHz will be added. If there is more than one 2.4GHz device
connected, one of those devices will be added.
NOTE:
1. When MAC Filtering is set to Enabled with Access Rule set to Yes, this means
that clients listed in the MAC Filtering Table are the only devices allowed to
wireless access.
2. When MAC Filtering is set to Enabled with Access Rule set to Yes, this means
that clients listed in the MAC Filtering Table is empty, this means NO devices
have access to wireless
