going
to
use speakers in this musiczone, connect
the
ZonePlayer

your
router.
If
you are
going

connect

an external amplifier,
or

your
computer's powered speakers, connect

ZonePlayer 90.
If
you

not
wish
to
playmusic in this room,
you
can purchase (separately) a Sonos
ZoneBridgeandconnect
it

Amplified
audio
device
To
connect
to
a
home
theater
or
amplifier
If
you
have
digitalinputs
on
yourhome theateroramplifier, you can use eithera
TosLink optical audiocable
or
adigital coaxial cable
to
connect
the
ZonePlayer
90's
digital
output
to
the
digital
input
on
the
receiver.
If
you haveanaloginputs
on
yourhometheateroramplifier, use a standard
RCA
audiocable
to
connectaZonePlayer'sanalog audio
output
to
the
audio inputs
on
the
receiver.
Select
the
proper
input
channel
on
the
receiver.
Afteryou finish setting
up
your
Sonos system,
turn
to
page'

adjust
the
volume
settings.
To

a computer

powered speakers
You
will need a stereo
mini
to
RCA
Y-adapteraudiocable (one
3,5
mm
stereo
mini
plug
to
dual
RCA
male connectors)
to
connect
the
ZonePlayer's analog
audio
output
to
the
computer's audio input.

by choosing one
of
thefollowing options:
Speakers: Power
rating should be at
least 75W for 8
Ohm speakers and
at least 150Wfor 4
Ohm speakers.
Make sure
the
Voltage switch on
the
back
of
the
ZonePlayer
is
set
to
the
proper position
for your country
before applying
power
Ifyou
are
using
speaker
wire,
use
yourfingertofirmly push the spring-loaded
speaker
posts inward
to
reveal
theconnection hole. Insert the stripped end
of
the
speaker
wire intothe hole, then
release.
Repeat
forthe other
speaker
connections.
Ifyour
speakers
have
banana
connectors, you
can
insertthe plugs
directly intothe banana
jacks
on the back
of
the ZonePlayer
(available in North America only).
Repeat
fortheother
speaker
connections.
Note:
Be
sure
to
connectthe red (+)and black(-)terminals from
each
speaker
to
thecorrespondingterminals on the
ZonePlayer.
Mismatching
of
polaritieswill result
in
weakcentral sound, and adistorted
sense
of
sound
direction.
Attach
the
power
cable and
plug
in
the
ZonePlayer.
Remember-if
you
are
attaching a ZonePlayer 120, makesure
the
Voltage Switch
on
the
back
of
the
ZonePlayer
is
set
to
the
proper
position
for
your
country
beforeapplying power.

change thesettings
of
yourfirewall software
to
ensure
that
Windows file sharing
is
notblocked.

the
SonosController
After at
least
one
ZonePlayer
has
been
set
up,
you
can
pick up yourController
and
followthe promptson the Controller's
screen
to
add itto your music
system.
You
should charge your
Sonos
Controllerwhen you remove itfrom the
packaging.
The
Controller batterywill
be
fully charged
in
about
two
(2)
hours.
You
can
use
yourControllerwhile it
is
charging.
The
powerconnectorcover
is
part
of
yourController's splash-resistantdesign,
so
keep
the cover down when theController
is
notcharging.

Controller's

Thickwalls, 2.4GHzcordless telephones, and

presence

wireless devices can interfere

wireless

signals

advisable

relocate

channel

operating

If
you are replacing
the
ZonePlayer
that
is
currentlyconnected
to
your
router,firstadd
the
new
Sonos
component
to
your
musicsystem
(steps below).
You
can
then
unplug
the
current
component
from
your
router, replace
it
with
the
new
one, and
move
the
original
component
to
a
new
location.
1. Choose one
of
the
following options:

you are adding aZonePlayer 120, attach desired speakers. Refer

If
you are adding aZonePlayer
90,
connect
it
to
an external amplified device.
Refer

If
you are adding aZoneBridge (purchased separately), attach
the
power
adapter. Refer

ZoneBridgeSetup Guide packaged
with
your
ZoneBridge
if
you need additional help.

If
you are making awired connection, connecta standard Ethernetcable from
your router, anotherZonePlayer,
or
a live
network
wall plate (ifyou have built-in
wiring)
to
one
of
the
Ethernet switch connections
on
the
back
of
the
new
Sonos
component.
If
you are making awireless connection, skipthis step.
3. Attach
the
power
cord and
plug
in
the
ZonePlayer
or
ZoneBridge.
4.
Choose one
of
the
following options:
Using
the
Sonos
Controller,
select System
Settings~Add
a ZonePlayer
or
ZoneBridgefrom
the
Music
menu
and
follow
the
prompts
to
add this
component
to
your Sonos Multi-room Music System.
Using
the
Desktop
Controller
software,
select
Zones~Add
a ZonePlayer
or
ZoneBridgefrom
the
Zones
menu
and
follow
the
prompts
to
add this
component
to
your
Sonos Multi-room Music System.
Add
aController
You
shouldchargeyour
new
Sonos Controller
when
you remove
it
from
the
packaging.
Plug
it
into
the
power
adapter, and then
follow
the
Controller's on-screen prompts
to
add
it
to
your
musicsystem (you can use

Controllerwhile
