STAGE 45: THE OIL TANK
STEP 1 Prepare the oil tank, mount and two of the three thicker screws.
STEP2
STEP 2 Take the mount and align the two larger holes in it with the corresponding holes in the oil tank.
In this stage, you t the mount to the oil tank.

STAGE 46: THE FRAME
Stage complete
In this stage, you remove the mounting plate and bracket from the
frame in preparation for tting the engine.
STEP1
STEP 1 Prepare the frame assembly (Stage 39).

STEP 2 Loosen the nut and bolt holding the
mounting plate and bracket to the frame.

STAGE 47: MOUNTING THE ENGINE
STEP 1 Prepare the frame, mounting plate, bracket and nut and bolt
(Stage 46), the engine (Stage 44), the frame centre support and screw
(Parts 41), the mount and screws (Parts 49), bolts (Parts 37).
STEP 3 The slot in the engine ts
onto the tab on the cross member.
STEP 2 Locate the slot in the front
of the engine (arrowed).
STEP 4 Place the engine into the
frame, as shown.

in the engine.

In this stage, you mount the engine onto the frame.

STEP 6 Locate the tab at the front
of the frame centre support.
STEP 7 Insert the tab into the slot
at the rear of the engine and the
bottom of the support into the
corresponding hole in the H-frame.

STEP 8 Take the mount (Parts
49) and position it onto the top of
the centre support, with the sides
resting in the frame.

STEP 9 Tighten two machine
screws (Parts 49) into the two
holes in the sides of the mount.
STEP 10 Turn the frame over
and tighten the screw from Parts
41 into the middle hole in the
H-frame.

STEP 11 Align the holes in centre
support with the holes in the
underside of the engine.

STEP 12 Tighten one of the self-
tapping screws from Parts 49 into
one of the aligned holes.
STEP 13 Tighten a second self-
tapping screw into the other hole.

STEP 14 Take the mounting plate
removed in Stage 46 and insert
the bolt through the hole in the
frame.

STEP 15 Place the bracket onto
the bolt from the other side of
the frame.
STEP 18 Insert one of the bolts
(Parts 37) into the aligned holes.
STEP 16 Tighten the nut back
onto the end of the bolt.
STEP 19 Tighten the bolt into
the hole.

mounting plate (arrowed) with
the corresponding holes in the
cylinders.

into the other hole.

STAGE 48: THE BATTERY BOX
STEP 1 Prepare the battery box, battery box cover and two of the smaller screws from Parts 50.
STEP2
STEP 2 The holes at the sides of the battery box cover t over the posts on the battery box.
In this stage, you will t the battery box cover to the battery box.

STEP 3 Place the cover onto the box, making sure the holes of both parts are aligned.
STEP 4 Tighten the two screws into the aligned holes. Do not overtighten the screws as you will need to remove
the cover to t the batteries.

STEP 1 Prepare the mounting
plate (Parts 50), and the other
pieces shown from Parts 51.
STEP 4 Tighten a screw into each
of the holes.
STEP 2 Take the mounting plate
(Parts 51) and place it onto the
underside of the gearbox.
STEP 5 Don’t fully tighten the
screws as the mounting plate
should remain able to move.

plate with those in the gearbox.
STEP 6 Take the fender mount
and insert it into the corresponding
hole in the mounting plate.

In this stage, you will assemble the gearbox.

STEP 7 Tighten the remaining
screw into the hole from the other
side to secure the mount.
STEP 10 Press the plate into
place.
STEP 8 Insert the pins of the
gearbox top into the matching
holes in the gearbox.
STEP 11 Tighten the two nuts onto
the long bolt.

STEP 9 Take the mounting plate
(Parts 50) and insert the two posts
into the matching holes in the
gearbox top.
STEP 12 Turn the bolt into the
hole in the gearbox and place the
other end into the recess in the
mounting plate, as shown.
