Version 02: valid for version ECdrive T2, ECdrive T2-FR, ECdrive, ECdrive-FR, SL NT and SL NT-FR from year of
manufacture 2019.
1.3 Product liability
In compliance with the liability of the manufacturer for his products as dened in the German “Product Liability
Act, compliance with the information contained in this brochure (product information and intended use, misuse,
product performance, product maintenance, obligations to provide information and instructions) must be en-
sured. Failure to comply releases the manufacturer from his statutory liability.

2 Fundamental safety precautions
To ensure personal safety, it is important to follow these safety instructions.
These instructions must be kept.
2.1 Intended use
The hook bolt locks A are only suitable for use
àin dry rooms
àin automatic door systems for horizontal door leaves
àin entrances and interior areas of pedestrian trac in commercial plants and public areas
The hook bolt locks must not be used in re and smoke protection doors.
2.2 Safety notices
àThe mandatory installation, maintenance and repair work must be performed by properly trained personnel
authorised by GEZE.
àThe country-specic laws and regulations are to be observed during safety-related tests.
àIf unauthorised changes are made to the system, GEZE cannot be held liable in any way whatsoever for any
resulting damage, and the approval for use in emergency exits ceases.
àGEZE does not accept any warranty for combinations with third-party products.
àFurthermore, only original GEZE parts may be used for repair and maintenance work.
àThe connection to the mains voltage must be made by a professional electrician. Perform the power connec-
tion and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.
àUse an on-site 10-A overload cut-out as the line-side disconnecting device.
àIn compliance with Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), a risk analysis must be performed and the door system
identied in accordance with CE Marking Directive 93/68/EEC before the door system is commissioned.
àObserve the current status of directives, standards and country-specic regulations, especially:
àDIN 18650: 2010-06 “Building hardware– Powered pedestrian doors”
àVDE 0100, Part 610: 2004-04 "Installing Electrical Power Systems with Nominal Voltages up to 1000 V"
àDIN EN 16005: 2013-01 "Power operated pedestrian doorsets; safety in use; Requirements and test methods"
àDIN EN 60335-1: 2012-10 “Safety of electrical devices for home use and similar purposes - Part 1: General

The product should be installed or incorporated in such a way that eortless access to the product is guaranteed
during any repairs and/or maintenance, and that any removal costs do not stand out of proportion to the value
of the product
2.3 Safety-conscious working
àSecure workplace against unauthorised entry.
àWatch the swivelling range of long system parts.
àNever carry out work with a high safety risk (e.g. installing the drive, cover or door leaf) while alone.
àSecure the cover/drive panels against falling.
àUse only the cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Cables must be shielded in compliance with the
wiring diagram.
àSecure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties.
àBefore working on the electrical system:
àDisconnect the drive from the 230/115 V mains and check to ensure that it is not supplied with power.
àDisconnect the control unit from the 24 V rechargeable battery.
àWhen an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be under voltage even when
disconnected from the mains.
àAlways use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores.
àAttach safety stickers to glass leaves.
àDanger of injury with opened drive. Hair, clothing, cables, etc. can be drawn in by rotating parts.

Overview
àDanger of injury caused by unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots.
àDanger of injury due to broken glass.
àDanger of injury due to sharp edges in the drive.
àDanger of injury during installation through freely moving parts.
2.4 Inspection of the installed system
Measures for protection and prevention of pinching, impact, shearing or drawing-in spots:
àCheck the function of safety sensors and movement detectors.
àCheck protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched.
àPerform a safety analysis (risk analysis).
2.5 Environmentally conscious working
àWhen disposing of the door system, separate the dierent materials and have them recycled.
àDo not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries with household waste.
àComply with the statutory regulations when disposing of the door system and the batteries/rechargeable
batteries.
2.6 Qualication
Installation of the GEZE sliding door drive may only be carried out by experts authorised by GEZE.

The hook bolt locks are available in versions with single or double locking. The illustration below shows the ver-
sion with double locking in the locked state.

Installing the hook bolt locks
XPush the connecting link arm in until the
marking can be seen as shown in the diagram
on the right.
The optimum position for the installation of the
hook bolt locks has then been reached.
XWhen installing two hook bolt locks make sure that the hooks of the driving rod catch the connecting link arm
as shown below (see arrows).

XAdjust the position of the stop buer after door installation and calibration.
When the door is closed the stop buer must not be ush. The distance should be about 1 mm.
With 2-leaf systems:
XInstall 2 additional stop buers before installing the roller carriage in the centre of the system.
XInstall the stop buers (3) in such a way that the rubber buers (2) are not pointing towards the roller carriage (1).
or
XInstall the stop buers on the main closing edge without rubber buers.
The additional stop buers protect the contacts when the door leaves are disconnected from the toothed belt.
 
