PRODUCT SERIES/ MODEL:

PCM-875 PowerCut 875
PowerCut 1125
SERIAL NO:
Universal control Board PN-38214 Revision “F” only
SUMMARY:
A SOLID fault lamp indication will occur if the air supply is OFF or NOT connected to the power
source when power is applied AND the torch switch is activated
OPERATIONAL IMPACT:
None
ACTION:
None Required
DESCRIPTION:
A SOLID (always ON) fault lamp fault condition indicates that a OVER CURRENT fault has occurred
in the Power Source.
To further improve the safety features of these plasma systems, a Rev F change to the software
implements the detection of a closed torch trigger switch at Power Up which also displays a SOLID
fault lamp and disables the power source.
A SOLID fault lamp indication will also occur if the air supply is OFF or NOT connected to the power source
when power is applied AND the torch switch is activated. This contradicts the SOLID ON light description or
an Internal Fault (component failure or over current condition) shown of the “Fault Light Indicator Chart”
below . An insufficient or lack of air flow fault is usually indicated by a “Flashing” light. This is still true if air
is lost during cutting. It is only at Power Up that lack of air flow will produce a SOLID ON fault light.
This software bug is being corrected and the flashing light will be reinstated for all air flow issues on
Revision “G” of PN-38214.
For proper operation of the power source INSURE that the AIR supply IS CONNECTED to the power source
and the pressure gage is reading a proper pressure before applying power to the power source. This will
insure proper operation of the Flow Fault detection circuitry.
