Tips and Safety Precautions
- Do not display a still image for ten (10) or more
hours. An afterimage may remain.
- It may be difficult to see the image on the
screen if the brightness is adjusted to the
minimum setting.
- The quality of the video signal may influence the
quality of the displayed image.
- Do not open the monitor.
- When unpacking, carrying or mounting the
monitor at least two people are needed. Make
sure the monitor is in the upright position.
Notes:
- Retain the carton and packing material for
storing or transporting the monitor.
Mounting
- Always follow mounting instructions to avoid
physical injury and/or damage to the monitor.
Location
- Use the monitor in a suitable environment. See
“Operating Temperature” and “Storage
Temperature” on the Specifications page of this
manual.
- Use caution around liquids as you would with
any electrical appliance.
- Do not insert objects into the monitor.
- Do not place the monitor on unstable surfaces.
- In all cases, refer to the specifications in this
manual to ensure proper monitor performance.
Use of the monitor outside of operating
specifications will void the monitor warranty and
may cause permanent damage to the monitor.
Power Cord
- Do not damage the power cord. Damage to the
cord may result in fire or electric shock.
- Do not add extension cords.
- Use only the power cord included with the
monitor.
- Insert the power plug directly into the AC outlet.
- Do not remove or insert the power plug with wet
hands. Doing so could result in electric shock.

part number is given. (When the part number is
not given, the description is true for both

Mounting the Monitor
The monitor can be mounted using the eight included screws. The hole pattern for the eight screws needed to mount
the monitor can be seen in the drawing below.
Unscrew the eight screws from the back cover. It is recommended that you use all eight screws when mounting the
monitor using a wall mount kit (not included). You must use at least four of the screws, either in the four center holes
or the four outer holes. Follow the directions that come with the wall mount kit to complete the installation.

Connecting the Video Inputs
The video input cable(s) should be attached to the appropriately labeled ports on the back of the monitor as shown
below. The following inputs are available:

Connecting the Power Cord
Plug the appropriate end of the power cord into the 3-pronged interface on the back of the monitor. Plug the other
end of the power cord into an outlet and turn the main power switch to ON.

Control Devices
The monitor comes with two control devices: A front control keypad on the monitor and a remote control. This section
covers how to use and maintain these control devices.

1. Remote Sensor: Point the remote control toward this remote sensor.
2. Power Indicator: The blue LED indicates the monitor is on and fully functional. An Orange LED indicates
power save mode or power off.

Front Keypad Controls
Your LCD monitor allows you to easily adjust the characteristics of the image being displayed. All of these
adjustments are made using the keypad control buttons on the front of the monitor. When you use these buttons to
adjust controls, an OSD shows the selection you are making.

Changing the Remote Control Battery
1. Remove the battery cover by pulling then lifting the knob on the cover.
2. Insert the batteries, corresponding to the positive (+) and negative (-) marking on the battery compartment
3. Reattach the battery cover.

Source Menu
The Source window displays all possible input sources for both the main image and secondary image (used for
Picture In Picture (PIP) and Picture And Picture (PAP) functions). Select Source on the front keypad or the remote
control to open the Source window, shown below. Use the arrow, Source, and Menu buttons on either the front
keypad or the remote control to navigate the window.

Turning PIP and PAP Options On and Off
The instructions in this section explain how to use the selections available in this window. More detailed information
about PIP and PAP functions can be found on p. 18.
On the front keypad or the remote control, if you are in the Source portion of the window, use the and buttons to
navigate to the PIP/PAP portion of the window. Once you are in the PIP/PAP portion of the window, use the
buttons to navigate PIP and PAP options. Press ENTER to make the current selection active. The selections are:
PIP OFF: Both PIP and PAP functions are off. The image from the Primary Source only displays full screen.
PIP: Turns on PIP mode (Picture in Picture). The image from the Primary Source displays in the main
window. The image from the Secondary Source displays in the smaller PIP window.
PAP: Turns on PAP mode (Picture and Picture). The images from the Primary Source and Secondary
Source display in a split screen format (side by side), with the Primary Source on the left and the Secondary
Source on the right.
Making Source Selections
If you are in the PIP/PAP area of the window, use the or button to navigate to the Source portion of the window.
The Source portion of the window is divided into three columns: Primary, Source, and Secondary. The Source
column displays all the possible sources.

Use the and buttons to navigate between working with the Primary and Secondary columns.
Use and buttons to navigate through selections in the Primary and Secondary sources columns. An
arrow displays next to the source you are currently navigated to.
Navigating through the appropriate column, press ENTER to change the current selection to the the Primary
Source or the Secondary Source. The or indicator displays next to your new selection and the
appropriate window image changes to the selected source.

On Screen Display (OSD)
The On Screen Display (OSD) is used to change monitor settings. This section includes an overview of the OSD
dialog box, detailed description of all OSD features, and instructions for locking the OSD.
Navigating OSD Menus
Follow the instructions below to navigate OSD menus.
1. Power on the monitor.
2. On the front control panel or remote control, press MENU.
3. Use and to select the OSD menu to work with.
4. Press or to navigate to fields on the currently selected menu.
5. Press ENTER to access sub-menus when the symbol displays next to the field or the field contains the
prompt “Enter."
6. Press or to scroll through field settings. Changes are saved automatically when you exit the OSD.
7. To exit the OSD menu or navigate to the previous menu, press MENU.

Details of OSD Menu Functions
The selections on each of the OSD menu pages, and the signal inputs for which they are available, are described in
this section.
Picture Menu
Use the Display Menu to adjust the picture quality.
Function Description
MDM
The Multi-Diagnostic Mode (MDM) setting is used to select the best image
settings for different diagnostic environments. (Select from: User, Text, DICOM,
DICOM CL (White), DICOM BL (Blue), Light Box, (X-Ray Viewer), WiGuard )
ALS
The Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) setting is used to adjust the luminance of the
panel backlight. (Select from: 300, 200, Off). When 300 or 200 is selected, the
menu selection displays as “ALS,” indicating that the light setting is being
controlled by the ambient light sensor in the front. When Off is selected, the
brightness of the panel is set manually. When Off is selected, press ENTER to set
the brightness value.
Contrast Adjusts the image contrast. See Glossary, page 30 for more information. The
default setting is 50.
Gamma Adjusts the gamma value. (Select from: User, Native, Gamma 1.8, Gamma 2.0,
Gamma 2.2, DICOM)
Saturation Adjusts the color saturation. See Glossary, page 30 for more information.
Sharpness Adjusts the image clarity. This function is available only when a
video source is selected.
Black Level Adjust the black level of the screen. This function is available only when a
video source is selected.
Note: Some menu items may not be displayed if the selected input does not support that function.

Color Menu
Use the Color Menu to adjust settings that affect the image color.
Function Description
Color Temp.
Change the color temperature. (Selections are: 6500K, 7500K, 8200K,
9300K, Natural, User). If you set the Color Temp. to User Color, you can
adjust the individual adjustments for red (R), green (G), and blue (B)). The
default setting is 9300K.
User Color Adjust red/green/blue gain. This setting is available only when the Color
Temp. is set to “User Color.” The default setting for all colors is 255.
Hue Adjusts Red, Green, and Blue values.
Satuation Adjust the color saturation of the video image.
6-Axis Adjust the image color quality by selecting from 6 base color adjustments:
Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta or Cyan. All default to 0.
Note: Some menu items may not be displayed if the selected input does not support that function.

Miscellaneous (Misc.) Menu
Function Description
Scaling Select the aspect ratio for the image. (Select from: Full Screen, Aspect Ratio,
Native).
H. Overscan Horizontal Overscan - Adjust the image size left and right. The screen may have
black bars at the left and right (pillarboxed).
V. Overscan Vertical Overscan - Adjust the image size up and down. The screen may have
black bars at the top and bottom (letterboxed)
PIP Mode
Opens a Picture-In-Picture window displaying the image from an additional input
source. (Select from: OFF, PIP, PAP). See below for an explanation of PIP and
PAP functions.
PIP Position This field is only available when the PIP field is set to PIP. This setting sets the
position of the Picture-In-Picture window. See below for selections.
PIP H. Overscan
PIP Horizontal Overscan - This field is only available when the PIP field is set to
PIP or PAP. This adjustment applies to the secondary source window. It adjusts
the image size left and right. The secondary source window may have black bars
left and right (pillarboxed).
PIP V. Overscan
PIP Horizontal Overscan - This field is only available when the PIP field is set to
PIP or PAP. This adjustment applies to the secondary source window. It adjusts
the image size top and bottom. The secondary source window may have black
bars top and bottom (letterboxed).

Using Picture In Picture (PIP) and Picture And Picture (PAP) Modes
Selecting PIP and PAP modes
1. To display two signals in PIP (Picture In Picture) mode, press the PIP button on the remote control, then
select Source, or use the Misc. Menu PIP Mode setting.
The Swap button on the remote control swaps the PIP image source with the main image sources.

2. To display two signals in PAP (Picture And Picture) mode, on the remote control press PAP or on the Misc.
menu PIP Mode setting, select PAP.
The Swap button on the remote control swaps the PAP image source with the main image source.

3. To return to full screen viewing of the main image source last selected before entering PAP mode, with the
remote control select PIP a third time.
