Important !
FEEDING HORSES IN THE FIELD
If you have more than one horse in the eld and they are fed with roughage, it is impor-
tant to have a fair distance between the pile of hay or feeders. Put out more piles of hay or
feeders than horse running in the yard, it is safer that way. The feeding site should always
be clean and dry. Avoid having too few feeder for the number of animals.
The feeder should not stand empty! Kellfri feeders are intended for feeding animals do
not use it for other purposes, or ll it with other materials.
When the feeder is not in used, do not leave it in the eld.
Keep in mind that you are responsible for your animals! Ensure that the animals cannot
get injured when using the feeder. If there is any suspicion that the animals may get in-
jured, the feeder should not be used. Kellfri AB disclaims responsibility for the animals be-
havior. With horses behavior, it might be that they want to “play” with an empty feeder for
which it is not intended. Therefore is it important that you keep your animal supervised!
Risk of serious injuries!

animals, always caused an increased risk for injuries for young animals.
Always check that the feeder is undamaged before using them.
IMPORTANT! Supervision shall be carried out at least once a day during use. There is a risk
that animals get stuck in the feeder.
The feeder should be place on a level surface and not soaked in the ground or in food and
snow. In order to guarantee the safety of the animal and the feeders stability, the surface
around the feeder should be kept clean.
Always make sure there is food in the feeder. When the feeder is used for horses, they
must have free access to roughage.

IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN SELECTING FEEDERS FOR ANIMALS
Whether you have horse, cattle or sheep, there are dierent types of races, ages, individuals
and hence dierent behaviors. You know your animals best and their behavior and we ask
you to think about how the animals react in dierent situations where a feeder is involved
so no injuries occurs. If there are too many animals around the same feeder, competition
increases and thus the pressure on the feeder increases and the risk of injury increases.
You are responsible for the choice of feeder model as you know your animals best - How
many animals should be around a feeder, how the ranking is in the ock is crucial for the size
of the feeder and how many feeders are appropriate. In the case the feeder is going to be for
of animals with horns, one must take this into account the choice of feeder.
When using metal feeder, there may be sharp edges. It is required for you to check that the
product cannot cause any harm to the animals. Take the habit of checking the feeder periodi-
cally and prior to use. Make sure there are no sharp edges and corners.
You as the owner of the animal is responsible for the equipment used for your animal.
Ensure that the ground area and around the feeder is well drained, dry and clean.
Keep up to date about rules and regulations through your local Agricultural Agencys concern-
ing feeding of animals in the eld.
Good to know
When the temperature drops iron and steel are aected by low temperatures in such a way
that the material becomes brittle. When the temperature drops the impact strength of the
metal decreases in a certain temperature range, the so-called transition zone. At temperatures
below this zone, the material becomes easier for brittle fractures.
MPORTANT! When the tempera-
ture drops below -25 degrees, it is
important to remember that steel
strength deteriorates. Then it is
extra important to check that the
feeder has no cracks.
