1. TurnthevehicleignitionOFF.
2. Determineifthefixedmaxi‐blade(7)oroneofthe
adaptors(mini‐bladeorATC‐blade)willbeused.
3. Ifnecessary,connectanadaptor(mini‐bladeorATC‐
blade)tothemaxi‐bladesbyslidingtheadaptordown
overthemaxi‐
bladesuntilitlocksinplace.Usecautionas
thebladescancauseinjuryifmishandled.
4. Removethefusefromthevehicle’sfuseblockforthe
circuitundertest.
5. Plugthetestbladesintothefusebox(wherethefusewas
removed).
6. Ifmaxi‐bladefusesarebeing
used,inserttheremoved
maxi‐bladefuseintothefusejack(6)onthetestercable.
7. Ifamini‐bladeorATC‐bladeadaptorwasused,insertthe
shortingplugbladeintothefusejack(6)onthetester
cable.Theshortingplugisthesuppliedambercolorplug.
8. Beforecontinuingpleasenotethattestsshouldbelimited
toa10secondperiod.Longertestscoulddamagemeter.
9. Pressthemeter’sPowerbutton(3)toswitchitON.
10. PresstheZERObutton(5)tozerothedisplayedreading.
11. Powerthecircuitundertestupto10secondsonlyand

1. Toreplacethebattery,removethescrewfromthebackof
theunitandremovethecover.
2. Insertorreplacethe9Vbattery(observepolarity).
3. Replacethebatterycover
NOTE:Ifthemeterdoesnotworkproperly,checkthebatteryto
ensurethatit’sfreshandproperlyinserted.

defects in parts and workmanship for one year from date of shipment (a six
month limited warranty applies to sensors and cables). If it should become
necessary to return the instrument for service during or beyond the warranty
period, contact the Customer Service Department for authorization. Visit the
website www.extech.com for contact information. A Return Authorization (RA)
numbermustbeissuedbeforeanyproductisreturned.Thesenderisresponsible
forshippingcharges,freight,insuranceandproperpackagingtopreventdamage
in transit. This warranty does not apply to defects resulting from action of the
user such as misuse, improper wiring, operation outside of specification,
impropermaintenanceor
