2. Connectthedesiredtestcabletothemeter’sbananajack
connectorcable(6),redtored,blacktoblack.
3. TurnthevehicleignitionOFF.
4. Iftestingthroughthevehiclefusebox:a.Removethefusefor
the
circuitundertest;b.Plugtheblade(7)intothefusebox
(wherethefusewasremoved);andc.Inserttheremoved
fuseintothefusejackonthemeasurementcable(9).
5. Ifusingalligatorclampsconnecttheblackclampontoagood
groundandconnectredclamptothe
positivetestpoint.
6. Befor econ tinuingpleasenotethattestsshouldbelimitedto
a10secondperiod.Longertestscoulddamagethemeter.
7. Pressthemeter’sPowerbutton(5)toswitchitON.
8. PresstheZERObutton(3)tozerothedisplayed reading.

1. Toreplacethebattery,removethescrewfromthebackofthe
unitandremovethecover.
2. Insertorreplacethe9Vbattery(observepolarity).
3. Replacethebatterycover.

Warranty
FLIR Systems, Inc.warrantsthis ExtechInstruments brand deviceto be free of
defects in parts and workmanship for one year from date of shipment (a six
month limited warranty applies to sensors and cables). If it should become
necessary to return the instrument for service during or beyond the warranty
period, contact the Customer Service Department for authorization. Visit the
website www.extech.com for contact information. A Return Authorization (RA)
numbermustbeissuedbeforeanyproductisreturned.Thesenderisresponsible
forshippingcharges,freight,insuranceandproperpackagingtopreventdamage
in transit. This warranty does not apply to defects resulting from action of the
user such as misuse, improper wiring, operation outside of specification,
impropermaintenanceor
repair,orunauthorizedmodification.FLIRSystems,Inc.
specifically disclaims any implied warranties or merchantability or fitness for a
specific purpose and will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or

Instruments products we sell. NIST certification for most products is also
