IMPORTANT DO NOT OPERATE UNIT BEFORE READING THIS SECTION
WARNING: Ultraviolet Light–Danger of severe eye or skin burns. Do not look at source or its
reflection without protective goggles. Do not defeat lamp shielding interlocks. Read operator's
manual before use or repair.
The Loctite
®
ZETA
®
7215 High Intensity Cure Chamber is a source of ultraviolet light used to
cure light sensitive products. The system incorporates ultraviolet shielding, an interlocked
chamber door, and a shutter to protect the user. It is safe when installed and used properly. The
following guidelines should be followed at all times to ensure protection from the ultraviolet light.
1. All personnel involved in the operation of the ZETA
®
7215 High Intensity Cure Chamber
should become familiar with the safety and operating procedures provided in the written material
provided with this equipment. Ultraviolet burns are not felt for several hours and short exposure
can cause severe burning of the skin. Never look directly at the output of the lamp or the output
of the lamp reflector. The ZETA
®
7215 is shielded and interlocked to prevent exposure to
ultraviolet radiation.
2. Do not defeat any of the system interlocks.
3. Do not attempt to open chamber door during the cure cycle. A cycle stop button is provided to
terminate curing and close the protective shutter. If the door is opened the unit turns down
power and closes the shutter, but the best procedure is to push cycle stop and wait for the
shutter to close prior to opening the chamber door.
4. Prior to any attempt at servicing, turn power off and remove power from all of the system
components.
5. When changing lamp, allow 15 minutes for the lamp to cool prior to removing.
Ultraviolet safety is the responsibility of the user. When in doubt about ultraviolet safety, consult
a Loctite technical specialist at 1-800-LOCTITE (562-8483).

Introduction2
2.1 OZONE WARNING
The ZETA
®
7215 Ultraviolet High Intensity Cure Chamber has been designed to operate safely
and reliably. However, if not used properly, it may become a potential hazard. All personnel
involved in the operation of the ZETA
®
7215 should be familiar with the operating safety
described in the Safety Considerations section of this manual. Ozone (O
3
) is a by-product of the
U.V. lamp. Ozone is a natural gas that is formed when Ultraviolet light from the sun is exposed
to the earth's atmosphere. Ozone has a pungent irritating odor. U.V. systems should not be
constantly operated in a confined room without proper ventilation. Exhausting the system to the
outside of the building will prevent ozone concentration in confined areas. Exhausting the ozone
is not dangerous to the atmosphere because the hot gas is unstable and breaks down to
oxygen usually before it leaves the ducting. Questions regarding installation, operation, or
safety should be addressed to Loctite Corporation Safety Health and Regulatory Affairs
Department in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, 1-800-LOCTITE (562-8483).
2.2 PURPOSE OF MANUAL
The purpose of this manual is to provide installation, operation and troubleshooting instructions
for the ZETA
®
7215 Ultraviolet High Intensity Cure Chamber. It is important the manual be
carefully read before any attempt to install or operate the equipment.
2.3 DESCRIPTION
The system is a bench top ultraviolet source designed for a wide range of Loctite
®
ultraviolet curing adhesives and coatings. The unit is suitable for laboratory use or
production requirements.
2.4 UNPACKING & INSPECTION
Visually inspect the shipping carton for physical damage. Damaged shipping cartons should be
reported to the carrier. Carefully open the shipping carton and remove the equipment, being
careful not to lose or damage any separately packed parts.
Check all parts against the packing list. Any damaged or missing parts should be reported to the
carrier and to your Loctite representative.
All packing materials and shipping carton should be saved in case the unit has to be returned at
some time in the future.

5. Set Cycle timer for desired cure time. (Cycle timer setting instructions in figure 7.)
6. Open Chamber door and adjust shelf for desired intensity. The maximum ultraviolet intensity
is available at the top of the chamber and the minimum at the bottom shelf position. If you are
not sure about the proper shelf setting utilize a Loctite
®
ZETA
®
7010 Puck Radiometer. Using
the ZETA
®
7010, a measurement of intensity can be obtained at any shelf position. This
measurement can be used to determine proper part placement and day to day process
repeatability. The ZETA
®
7010 can be placed in the oven, the Chamber door closed, then
when the cycle start button is pushed, the ZETA
®
7010 will detect and record the ultraviolet
light when the shutter opens. After the shutter closes the ZETA
®
7010 can be removed from
the chamber and intensity or total energy read on the digital display. Contact your Loctite
representative at 1-800-LOCTITE for the ZETA
®
7010 Puck Radiometer part number 98001.
Parts should be placed near the center of the shelf. If you have no means of measuring
intensity, it is recommended that test samples are placed near the bottom of the chamber
then moved up if the intensity is not sufficient. Do not place parts so high as to interfere with
the shutter.
7. Close the Chamber door. Refer to the illustration of Chamber Door Knob figure 8 on page 10.
Push the Cycle Start button. The part can be observed through the window located above the
Chamber door. If it becomes necessary to end cure cycle, push the CYCLE STOP BUTTON
and the shutter will close.
8. At the end of the cycle remove parts from Chamber.
9. To shut down the system, first push the Lamp Power Off, then the Control Power Off, wait
three minutes then turn Chamber Power off. The three minute time period allows the fans to
provide a lamp cooling period.

Maintenance5
ALWAYS REMOVE POWER FROM ALL UNITS CONNECTED TO THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO
THE START OF ANY SERVICING!
With proper care and maintenance, the U.V. lamp can be expected to have a useful life of
approximately 1,000 hours. To install or change the lamp refer to section 3.3 in this manual
entitled Mercury Lamp Installation. In addition to lamp maintenance the reflectors should be
cleaned to insure proper output. Cleaning is suggested once every 40 hours. If deposits do not
appear on reflectors, cleaning can be delayed.
Cotton Gloves
Lamps should never be touched with bare hands. Always use clean cotton gloves when
handling U.V. lamps. Oils from fingers can become permanently etched on the bulb when turned
on. This will reduce the lamp output and reduce the life of the lamp.
5.1 REFLECTOR CLEANING
To clean the reflectors, wearing white cotton gloves, remove the lamp. Using a soft cotton cloth
dampened with alcohol, wipe the reflector surfaces gently. After cleaning, wipe surfaces dry with
a soft clean cotton cloth. Replace the lamp, then the Lamp assembly.
5.2 LAMP CLEANING
Wait until lamp is cool prior to cleaning. If deposits are present on the outside of the lamp, the
lamp can also be wiped clean with a slightly alcohol-dampened cotton cloth.

For Your Safety1
IMPORTANT DO NOT OPERATE UNIT BEFORE READING THIS SECTION
WARNING: Ultraviolet Light–Danger of severe eye or skin burns. Do not look at source or its
reflection without protective goggles. Do not defeat lamp shielding interlocks. Read operator's
manual before use or repair.
The Loctite
®
ZETA
®
7216 High Intensity Cure Chamber is a source of ultraviolet light used to
cure light sensitive products. The system incorporates ultraviolet shielding, an interlocked
chamber door, and a shutter to protect the user. It is safe when installed and used properly. The
following guidelines should be followed at all times to ensure protection from the ultraviolet light.
1. All personnel involved in the operation of the ZETA
®
7216 High Intensity Cure Chamber
should become familiar with the safety and operating procedures provided in the written material
provided with this equipment. Ultraviolet burns are not felt for several hours and short exposure
can cause severe burning of the skin. Never look directly at the output of the lamp or the output
of the lamp reflector. The ZETA
®
7216 is shielded and interlocked to prevent exposure to
ultraviolet radiation.
2. Do not defeat any of the system interlocks.
3. Do not attempt to open the chamber door during the cure cycle. A cycle stop button is
provided to terminate curing and close the protective shutter. If the door is opened, the unit turns
down power and closes the shutter, but the best procedure is to push the cycle stop and wait for
the shutter to close prior to opening the chamber door.
4. Prior to any attempt at servicing, turn the power off and remove power from all of the system
components.
5. When changing the lamp, allow 15 minutes for the lamp to cool prior to removing.
Ultraviolet safety is the responsibility of the user. When in doubt about ultraviolet safety, consult
a Loctite technical specialist at 1-800-LOCTITE (562-8483).

2.1 OZONE WARNING
The ZETA
®
7216 Ultraviolet High Intensity Cure Chamber has been designed to operate safely
and reliably. However, if not used properly, it may become a potential hazard. All personnel
involved in the operation of the ZETA
®
7216 should be familiar with the operating safety
described in the Safety Considerations section of this manual. Ozone (O
3
) is a by-product of the
Questions regarding installation, operation, or safety
should be addressed to Loctite Corporation Safety Health and Regulatory Affairs Department in
Rocky Hill, Connecticut, 1-800-LOCTITE (562-8483).
2.2 PURPOSE OF MANUAL
The purpose of this manual is to provide installation, operation and troubleshooting instructions
for the ZETA
®
7216 Ultraviolet High Intensity Cure Chamber. It is important that this manual, plus
the electrodeless lamp manual (F300S/F300SQ), be carefully read before any attempt to install
or operate the equipment.
2.3 DESCRIPTION
The system is a bench top ultraviolet source designed for a wide range of Loctite
®
ultraviolet
curing adhesives and coatings. The unit is suitable for laboratory use or low production
requirements.
