SEAT BELTS
Seat belts are a compulsory and very important item of equipment in all
vehicles, but given the level of performance of competition cars and the very
high speeds achieved, their seat belts necessarily need to be a little different
from those tted to road vehicles.
THE HARNESS
The seat belts of competition cars
are harness-type with four separate
anchor points and a quick release
system which allows the driver or
co-driver to get free instantly in the
event of an accident. Due to the
forces that affect them, the harness
must be able to hold them in all
directions, forward and back, side to
side, and up and down.
