1 Safety instructions
Remarks for safe use in hazardous areas.
The device must only be installed, connected and set up by qualified staff. The qualified staff must
have knowledge of types of protection, regulations and provisions for apparatus in hazardous
areas.
The classification and marking of the device must be suitable for the application.
Adhere to the respective national regulations and provisions as well as the relevant installation
regulations.
Observe applicable documents.

Type examination certificate:
EU: BVS 03 ATEX E131 X, BVS 04 ATEX E153 X
IEC: IECEx BVS 06.0003X
The requirements of the following standards are met:
EN IEC 60079-0:2018, EN 60079-11:2012
IEC 60079-0:2017, IEC 60079-11:2011
In principle, the type examination only takes atmospheric conditions into account. For conditions
outside these ranges use must be assessed and approved by the user.

Maximum effective internal inductance (Li) and capacitance (Ci):
Li = 150 μH, Ci = 150 nF
3 Installation
uProtect device and cable against destruction.
uAvoid electrostatic charging on plastic housings and cables.
uTo avoid electrostatic charging, ensure the equalisation of potential of metal parts (connector
housing, fixing elements, protective housing, etc.).
uFor this purpose, the connector housing of the M12 connector (solenoid valve connection) is
connected to pin PE of the connector Rd24X1/8. According to the requirements of the installation
regulations, the connector housing can be grounded via this pin to avoid electrostatic charging, if
grounding is not ensured otherwise.
3.1 Special conditions for safe operation
uAlways refer to the operating instructions for the identification, as it may not be fully applied to the
device due to lack of space.
4 Maintenance, repair and disposal
The device must not be modified nor can it be repaired. In case of a fault please contact the
manufacturer.
If needed, data sheets and type examination certificates or other certificates can be requested from
the manufacturer (Ò cover sheet / back).
