Congratulations on your recent purchase of a CEM rapid fat analyzer.
The ability to get your system installed quickly depends heavily upon your prompt response. Please carefully read
the information outlined below, then complete this form and return it to Eileen McHugh via email or fax (704) 821-
5185 as soon as possible.

CEM is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM (Eastern Time), excluding major holidays.
Overview
Here’s an overview of what to expect leading up to the installation of the ORACLE™ System and details on how we
can work together to keep things moving as quickly as possible.
First, we will need you to complete and return this form. This document serves to conrm that the site is ready
or will be ready prior to the arrival of the CEM Service Engineer and advises us of the work that will need to be
performed during the installation.
Second,we will schedule the installation. Once we receive the signed Site Prep Guide, the installation can be
scheduled. Typically, this process takes two days. On the rst day the CEM Service Engineer will install the ORACLE
System and on the second day, provide training and run your dry samples to compare them against known reference
values.

Site Preparation
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to prepare a suitable site for the instrument prior to the arrival of a CEM
Service Engineer. Please note that if all of the items outlined below are not available at installation (date to be
determined), then the instrument may not be able to be installed and a travel fee of $950.00 will be charged for a
follow-up visit.
Please initial next to each site requirement to acknowledge that the following site preparation information will be
available prior to installation and training.
_______ Room temperature between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 20°C) with relative humidity no less than 10%
or greater than 85%. Ensure the designated space is not directly below or adjacent to an air vent.
The ORACLE magnet will not operate properly if strong airow moves over the magnet opening.
_______ An area away from varying magnetic eld sources such as power panels, power transformers, electric
motors, etc. which may degrade the precision.
_______ No iron or steel objects closer than 30 cm to the magnet location or in drawers directly below the
magnet location.
_______ A non-magnetic bench capable of supporting at least 203 lbs (92 Kg).
_______ Bench space for the ORACLE System:
47 in. (33 cm) W x 30 in. (77 cm) D x 25 in. (64 cm) H
NOTE: The processor box for the ORACLE can be placed under the bench or on a separate shelf up to 9 ft. (3 m) away.
Space required: 13 in. (33 cm) W x 16 in. (41 cm) D x 17 in. (44cm) H
_______ Space for the Power Conditioner at minimum 3 ft. (1 m) away from the magnet:
12 in. (31 cm) W x 16.5 in. (42 cm) D x 9.5 in. (25 cm) H
_______ A dedicated, grounded 120 VAC, 60 Hz outlet, supplying 20A at 120 VAC.
This outlet should be no more than 5 ft. (1.5 m) from the areas provided
for the instrument - no other system(s) connected. AC power should vary
no more than 5% of its specied level.

INSTALLATION TYPE
A permanent location must be identied for the ORACLE System with the above specications.
The installation and training purchased with your system includes one of the following two options:
1. Replacing an existing system in the same location
The CEM Service Engineer will rst uninstall the existing system prior to installing the new system. Approximately
1-1/2 to 2 days of downtime will be required.
2. Installing the new system in a different, permanent space
If the new system can be permanently installed in a different physical location than the existing system, the
CEM Service Engineer will install the new system and provide system training, then uninstall the existing system,
incurring no downtime.
If an existing system cannot be uninstalled and the new ORACLE System must be installed then relocated after
installation to the original location, a completely separate installation visit will be required and an additional
installation fee of $950 will be incurred. This fee must be authorized prior to the arrival of the CEM Service Engineer
for installation.

The new system will be installed in the same location as the existing system. I understand that the existing
system will be uninstalled prior to installation of the new system and 1½ to 2 days of downtime will be
required.
The new system will be installed in a new, permanent location. I understand that the system will not be
relocated after installation.
The new system will be installed in the same location as the existing system; however, the existing system
cannot be uninstalled until after the new system installation is complete. I understand that an additional
installation visit will be required and a fee of $950 will be incurred.
