Safety information
Electrical safety
To prevent electrical shock hazard, disconnect the power cable from the electrical
outlet before relocating the system.
When adding or removing devices to or from the system, ensure that the power
cables for the devices are unplugged before the signal cables are connected.
If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact
CyberResearch, Inc.
Operation safety
Before installing devices into the system, carefully read all the documentation that
came with the package.
Before using the product, make sure all cables are correctly connected and the
power cables are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact CyberResearch
immediately.
To avoid short circuits, keep paper clips, screws, and staples away from
connectors, slots, sockets and circuitry.
Avoid dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Do not place the product in any
area where it may become wet. Place the product on a stable surface.
If you encounter technical problems with the product, contact a qualified service

1 System Introduction
This chapter gives a general description of the CyberResearch Compact PPC (Panel PC)
system. The chapter lists the system features including introduction on the front and rear
panel, and internal components.
1.1 Welcome!
Thank you for choosing the CyberResearch Compact PPC PC system! The
CyberResearch Compact PPC PC system is a balance of power, design, and performance
built on cutting-edge technology and innovation. The PPC Compact PC motherboard
supports an Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with up to 800MHz front side bus (FSB), and
up to 2GB system memory.
This system features a complete array of multimedia capabilities and seamless
connectivity including dual display function, Fast Ethernet, 4-in-1 card reader, PCMCIA,
USB, S/PDIF, and IEEE 1394 interfaces.
The ergonomic design, quite operation, and cost-effective architecture of the
CyberResearch Compact PPC PC system makes it an ideal solution for your multimedia
and computing needs.

panel. The optical drive, storage card reader, PCMCIA slot, and several I/O ports are
located inside the front panel door.
