Twoormorepeoplearerequiredtoliftaserver,moveaserver,orinstallaserverintoarackcabinet
iftheservermeetsoneofthefollowingcriteria:

Theweightoftheserverisratedabove18kg(39.7lbs).Refertothefollowingstatementforsafe
practiceswhenlifting.

CAUTION:
Usesafepracticeswhenlifting.
Beforeinstallingaserverintoarackcabinet,removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattached
devicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectall
cablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
Makesurethattheroomairtemperatureisbelow35°C(95°F).
Donotblockanyairvents;usually15cm(6inches)ofspaceprovidesproperairow.
Donotleaveopenspacesaboveorbelowaninstalledserverinyourrackcabinet.Tohelpprevent
damagetoservercomponents,alwaysinstallablankllerpaneltocovertheopenspaceandtohelp
ensureproperaircirculation.
Installtheserveronlyinarackcabinetwithperforateddoor(s)forbothsecurityandproperairow.
Startfromthebottomoftherackcabinetfortheserverordeviceinstallation.
Installtheheaviestserverordeviceinthebottomoftherackcabinet.
Donotextendmorethanoneserverordeviceoutoftherackcabinetatthesametime.
Ifpossible,removethedoorsandsidepanelsoftherackcabinettoprovideeasieraccessduring
installation.
Donotoverloadtheelectricaloutletwhenyouinstallmultipledevicesintherackcabinet.
Connectallpowercordstoproperelectricaloutletsandrefertothedocumentationthatcomeswiththe
rackcabinetforcablinginformationtohelpyouproperlymanageallthecablesintherackcabinet.
Observethefollowingguideline:

Donotplaceanyobjectontopofrack-mounteddevices.

Beforeyoubegintherackinstallation,removeallthepartsfromtherailkitpackageshippedwithyour
serverandlayallthepartsonaworkingsurface.

Installingyourserverintoarackcabinetusingtherailkit
Beforeyoubegin,removeallthepartsfromtherailkitpackageandlayallthepartsonaworkingsurface.
See“Railkitpackage”onpage4.Thelengthofeachsliderailrangesfrom65cm(25.6inches)when
collapsedto90cm(35.4inches)whenfullyextended.Measuretherackbeforetheinstallationtoensurethat
therackcanaccommodatethesliderail.
Attention:Donotopenyourserverorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstandingthe“Guidelines”
onpage1.
Toinstalltheserverintoarackcabinetusingtherailkit,dothefollowing:
1.Installtherailkitbydoingthefollowing:
a.Onarearmountingangeoftherightsideoftherackcabinet,selectaproperrackmountingarea
fortherightsliderail.Positiontherearendoftherightsliderailtothemountingareasothatthe
tabsontherearendoftherightsliderailarealignedwiththecorrespondingholesinthemounting
area.Pushtherightsliderailinthedirectionasshowninthegureuntiltherearendoftheright
sliderailisrmlysecuredtothemountingange.
Note:Theholesinamountingangeareseparatedintogroupsbymeasuringmarks.Thethree
holesbetweentwoadjacentmeasuringmarksformagroup,whichindicates1Uspace.Notethe
measuringmarksonamountingangetohelpyoucorrectlyselectarackmountingareaforthe
server.Formoreinformationabouttheplacementoftheholesinamountingange,refertothe
documentationthatcomeswiththerackcabinet.
