Your safety in using the BodyGuard

Infusion System is our utmost priorty. Please

only use the device according to the manufacturer’s operators manual or other

approved literature. In the unlikely event of experiencing an issue or probelm with

your system, please help us to invesgate the cause by following these important

steps:

1. Whenever possible retain the system and its original packaging (or make a

note of the Lot Number found on the upper le of the set packaging) so that it

can be returned to the manufacturer for invesgaon.

2. Record details of events or acvity at the me of the issue including details of

any alarms acvated on the pump immediately before or aer the event and

any other circumstances that may have contributed to the issue. No maer

how small or insignicant a detail may seem it may form an important part of

the invesgaon.

3. Contact your healthcare provider to report the event and arrange for the

collecon and return of the set.

Infusion Pumps

1. Remove protecve cover and insert spike into soluon container.

2. If appropriate/preferred (oponal on sets incorporang manual prime valve)

manually prime the admin set using the priming valve with lter (if present)

orientated arrow up unl set fully primed.

3. Alternavely prime using the pumps automac priming feature aer loading the

set (see direcons in the BodyGuard

operator manual) ensuring the key(s) is

located correctly.

4. Aach set securely to the paent’s access device.

5. Prior to start of the infusion refer to BodyGuard

operator manual for applica-

ble precauonary instrucon. Start infusion when ready.

Warnings:

• Do not use if packaging is open, damaged or protectors are missing/detached.

• This system should not be used for the administraon of blood, blood products,

nitroglycerin or soluons that are signicantly light sensive. (This does not

apply to TPN whilst in the set, usually the reservoir (bag) is covered if in doubt

please contact your healthcare provider.)

• Air embolism can cause death or serious injury to the paent. Do not connect

paent to the BodyGuard

Infusion System unl all air has been cleared from

the uid path.

• Puncturing set components may cause air embolism.

• Biological contaminaon can result from re-using single use disposable items or

failing to follow good ascepc technique. Properly discard single use disposables

aer use.

• Cauon: Component damage may occur if not installed properly. Ensure all

connectors are securely aached.

Important: Tubing must be installed so as uid ows in the direcon of arrows

inside the pump door.
