Installation and Safety Instructions

These instructions are for your safety. Please read them through thoroughly
before use and retain for future reference.
Siting Instructions
This product has special protection against the ingress of moisture and is IP44 rated.
This product is only suitable for use in Zone 2 and outside Zones of a bathroom. See diagram below.
The chosen location should allow for the product to be securely mounted.
(e.g. to a stud wall framework) and safely connected to a mains supply (lighting circuit).
If this product is being fitted in a bathroom a 30mA RCD must be used in accordance with current
regulations. Ensure the switch and drain hole are located at the bottom of the product when mounting
to the wall. This ensures that any moisture that gets inside the product can drain away safely.
The product should not be situated where the shaver socket is likely to be splashed.
Installation

1. IMPORTANT. Always switch off the electricity supply at the mains during installation and
maintenance. We recommend that the fuse is withdrawn or circuit breaker switched off at the
distribution board whilst work is in progress.
This mirror fixes to the wall by locating the keyhole shaped slots over the mounting screws
in the wall. It is important to get the screw positions correct to ensure easy and secure fitting.
3. Measure the distance between the hole centres on the fixing lugs. Mark the positions of the
screw holes on the wall. Check for concealed pipes and wiring before drilling.
Use suitable drill bits for masonry and ceramic tiles.
4. Supplied wall plugs are for solid walls only. For all other wall types ensure correct fixings are
used. Fit appropriate wall fixings and fit supplied screws. Screw heads must protrude approx 3-
5mm from the wall to enable lugs to fit over adequately.

5. Undo Junction Box screws and remove lid, ensuring you do not damage the waterproof seal.
6. Pierce a hole in the cable inlet grommet and feed cable through into junction box, allowing
adequate flex to manoeuvre mirror on and off wall. Connect wires to terminal block, making sure
you follow correct wiring orientations and procedures. Where product is replacing an existing light
fitting, take note of the position of existing set of wires and transfer these to the terminal block
supplied. Where a ring/loop circuit exists there may be an extra set of wires (unswitched live),
which are not connected to L, N or E of the fitting. These must be connected together in the fourth
(blank) terminal of the terminal block, or kept together in a separate approved connector
(insulated from the rest of the fitting). See figure below for further instruction.

7. Ensure LED power lead is plugged into jack socket and replace lid, making sure seal is
properly seated.
8. Carefully locate fixing holes on frame over screws, ensuring product is fully seated on all mounts.
Care & Use
Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Never use scourers, abrasives or chemical cleaners. Do not allow
moisture to come into contact with electric parts.

Shaver socket use instructions
The shaver socket is powered by a 20W isolating transformer and is only intended for use
with electric shavers, electric toothbrush chargers and related products. Any appliance
connected to the socket must not exceed the 20W power output as this could cause damage
and overheating to occur. Always check your appliance instructions to ensure the power
requirements are less than 20W and to determine the correct socket (115V or 230V) to use.
Failure to use the correct socket could damage your appliance and the shaver socket, or both.
The shaver socket is permanently live. The pull switch only controls the light.
