1. Prior to use
1.1 Period and scope of warranty
Delivered products are under warranty for a period of one year after delivery.
During the period of warranty, the vendor will have his own to responsibility replace or repair malfunctioning
parts if the product malfunction is the responsibility of the vendor.
However, this warranty does not apply under the following circumstances:
(1) If the user handles or uses the product in an inappropriate way
(2) If the malfunction is caused by something other than the delivered product
(3) If the delivered product has been modified or repaired by anyone other than the vendor
(4) Due to natural disaster, accident, or other reason not the responsibility of the vendor
In this context, the term “warranty” means solely a warranty of the individual delivered product, and does not
include any compensation for the damage caused by malfunction of the delivered product.
1.2 Scope of service
The service costs such as the costs of sending technical personnel are not included in the price of the delivered
product. Customers will be charged for the following costs:
(1) Assistance with installation adjustments and test running
(2) Maintenance inspections, adjustments, and repairs
(3) Technical assistance and technical training

4.2 Base Address
The Advme1211 takes up a 64-byte (40H) consecutive area in the VME bus A16 short address space, and the
starting address of the required area is referred to as a base address . The base address is assigned with the DSWs
1 and 2 on this board.
Among the addresses, A15 and A14 are fixed to 1, A13-A10 correspond to DSW1 and A9-A6 correspond to
DSW2 respectively.
However, it is necessary not to overlap the base address set here with the base address set for other board located
in the same rack.
The base address will be “FF00H” if the DSW1 is set to “F” and DSW2 is set to “C”.
These switches are factory-configured to “0”, which allows the base address to be C000H.
4.3 Input Connector
The Advme1211 is equipped with an I/O connector mounted with 40-pin MIL headers (2 pcs.).
The external cable is designed to adopt two types of connectors, insulation displacement connector (for a 1.27mm
pitch flat cable) and barbed crimp connector.
A connector layout is indicated in Figure 4.3.

4.4 Others
The Advme1211 requires individual VME bus signal connection of BG*IN and BG*OUT on account of no
function of bus arbitration. (Asterisk (*) assigned with 0 to 3)
Because an interrupt is not used, the Advme1211 is connected to IACKIN and IACKOUT.
So, the signals are communicated to the next slot without short-circuiting the IACK daisy chain on the backplane
(VME rack).
4.5 Input Signal Connection
4.5.1 Input Circuit
The configuration of the input circuit is shown in Figure 4.5.1.
The Advme1211 is capable of 128-point input circuit through 16 divided input banks with an independent
common allocated every 8 points.

4.5.2 Example of Connection
The common terminal is available connected to the plus (+) side of the power supply.
Electrical isolation is also provided between the input banks, which allows signals requiring power supplies
that correspond to the input banks to be input.
[Figure 4.5.2] Example of Connection
4.6 Before Power-On
Mixed input and output and intricate layout of cables (connectors) are apt to be present in a system containing a
number of signal lines. With configuration and wiring installation completed, ensure that valid configuration and
correct wiring are performed before power-on.
z Is the line connected correctly?
z Is a unique base address of an I/O port assigned in a large system?
If the unique base address is not specified, the system may give an abnormal readout despite deceptively
proper operation.
z Is power supply voltage in the proper range?
The system may fail to perform proper operation in reaction to tripping of the voltage monitoring circuit if
power supply voltage supplied to the VME bus is in the edge of the recommended operating voltage range.
z Is enough power capacity secured?
The inadequate current capacity may cause power supply voltage to fluctuate that may result in unstable
operation.
