Product Description

Card Format

The ID-200 camera produces two ID cards per film frame. Each card is

formatted with the portrait on the right and data on the left as shown below.

Features

• Produces ID cards in both color and black & white formats.

• Optional hand-held or tripod mounted.

• Adjustable Diaphragm (Aperture) for portrait exposure.

• Viewfinder template for easy portrait framing.

• Variable head sizes and sharp pictures from 35” to 45”.

• Lightweight, completely portable system.

• Option of two pictures of same subject or one picture of two subjects per film

frame.

• Camera’s Flash provides lighting for both subject and data. No

supplementary lighting required.

• Adjustable flash output; switch to 80-160 for color film or 3000 for black &

white film.

• Ease of use. Simply position the Exposure Box, set the Diaphragm

(Aperture), frame the subject, and take the picture.

• Fixed shutter speed for Taking (Portrait) and Data Lenses.

• Fixed Aperture for Data Lenses and variable Aperture for Taking Lenses.

Basic Camera Operation

The Lens System

The camera has four Lenses, two Taking (Portrait) Lenses and two Data Lenses

(Figure 1-2).

Taking the Picture (subject and data)

To make the first ID card, move the Exposure Box to position 1 (up)

(Figure 1-3).

When the Shutter Button is pressed, all four Shutters open simultaneously. The

Flash fires, exposing the subject through the top Taking Lens and the data

through the top Data Lens (Figure 1-4). The bottom Lenses are blocked by the

lower portion of the Exposure Box.

Subject Exposure Control

Subject exposure is determined by the flash output (Film Speed Selector -

Figure 1-5) and Diaphragm (Aperture) setting. Shutter speed is fixed.

When using color film, the Film Speed Selector should be set for ISO 80-160.

For black & white use the ISO 3000 setting.

Set the Aperture according to the chart below. Images will be in sharp focus

between 35 and 45 inches (88 and 114cm).

Data Exposure Control

Data exposure is not adjustable. Aperture size and shutter speed are fixed.

Also, the Lens is magnified to capture the entire data card.

Each time the Flash fires, light reflects off the data card inside the Exposure Box

exposing the data through the top Data Lens (Figure 1-6). The bottom Data

Lens is blocked by the lower portion of the Exposure Box.

Inside the Exposure Box, aluminum Upper Panels direct light down to a white-

walled data area allowing even illumination of the data card (Figure 1-7).

Make the Second ID Card

To make the second ID card, move the Exposure Box down to Position 2

(Figure 1-8).

Press the Shutter Button and the portrait and data are exposed through the

lower Lenses (Figure 1-9).

1. Adjust to position 1

An opening in the Exposure Box is positioned in front of the top Taking

Lens (Figure 2-1). The Exposure Box is held by a magnet located on

each side of the Front Lens Mount Plate (Figure 2-2).

2. Insert data card

The data card is positioned in front of the Data Lens (Figure 2-3).

3. Adjust Diaphragm (Aperture) opening

Slide the Diaphragm (Aperture) Lever (Figure 2-4) to the desired setting.

Diaphragm Leaf (a) and Diaphragm Leaf (b) rotate to open the Aperture to

the selected setting for proper subject exposure (Figure 2-5).

Note: Data Aperture is not adjustable. Magnified Lens and fixed Aperture assure

proper framing and exposure.

4. Frame subject in Viewfinder

The camera-to-subject distance should be between 35 and 45 inches (88

and 114cm) (Figure 2-6).

Look into the Viewfinder and center the subject inside the Finder Mask

(Figure 2-7).

5. Press Shutter Button

6. Taking and Data Shutters open

The shutter linkage causes Shutter Leaf (b) and Shutter Leaf (a)

(Figure 2-8) to rotate until the Taking and Data Shutters are open.
