Chapter 1 — Using the CK31 Handheld Computer
4 CK31 Handheld Computer User’s Manual
What’s New?
This revision of the user’s manual includes this new information
to support the latest software and hardware release:
The CK31 now supports Bluetooth communications. For
help, see “Configuring Bluetooth Communications” on page
42.
42-key and 50-key keypads are now available. For more
information, see “Using the Keypad” on page 8.
The CK31 now ships with the SmartSystems™ client that
enables you to use SmartSystems Console to configure, install
applications, and upgrade your CK31s. For more
information, see “Configuring the CK31 With SmartSystems
Console” on page 38 , “Installing Applications Using
SmartSystems Console” on page 74, or “Upgrading Your
CK31 Using SmartSystems Console” on page 79.
Funk is the new default for security. For help, see
“Configuring Security” on page 46. With the addition of
CCX v2.0 compliance, the CK31 now supports WPA2.
Using the Battery
The CK31 uses a model AB1G (P/N 318-020-001) lithium-ion
battery as its main power source. You must fully charge the main
battery before you can use the CK31. When you change the
battery, a backup battery maintains your status, memory, and
real-time clock for at least 10 minutes.
If the battery light blinks or turns on solid, you cannot restore
factory defaults or perform a warm or cold boot on your CK31
by using the I key. You must replace the battery with a fully
charged battery before you can restore factory defaults or boot
your CK31.
