Intermec Connection Manager Settings
After you have installed Intermec Connection Manager, you are
able to access the settings menu from the icon in the system tray.
From the system tray, you are able to configure Intermec
Connection Manager, apply registry settings, and check your
Ethernet settings.
Intermec Connection Manager Settings Menu
Configuring Intermec Connection Manager
You can access the Configuration screen from the Intermec
Connection Manager Settings Menu. In the Configuration
screen, you are able to adjust various settings including keepalive
ping intervals, power thresholds, and WAN settings.
Keepalive Tab
The Keepalive tab lets you adjust the amount of time between
ping packets. This prevents the session from timing out and
keeps route entries updated. Setting the Keepalive interval to 0
minutes disables this option. The default value is 0 minutes.
Note: While Connection Manager is running, you
must not change network settings via iConnect or
NDISTray as this may cause Connection Manager to
stop functioning properly.
Chapter 2 — Using Intermec Connection Manager
10 Intermec Connection Manager User’s Guide
Ping Destination is used with the Keepalive Interval. The
destination can be a static IP or DNS address. If the Ping
Destination is left blank, Intermec Connection Manager will use
the IP address of the gateway to which it is attached.
Thresholds Tab
The Threshold tab allows you to change power threshold
settings. Intermec Connection Manager can be set to disable
roaming or disable a specific roaming option when the battery
life reaches a specified level. By default, roaming is disabled when
the battery level reaches 20%.
Logins Tab
The Logins tab allows you to configure your WWAN settings.
Get Registry Settings
This feature instructs Intermec Connection Manager to read its
registry settings. This allows registry changes to take effect
without rebooting the mobile computer.
Check Ethernet Now
This setting instructs Intermec Connection Manager to attempt
to establish an Ethernet connection on its next cycle.
If Intermec Connection Manager detects an Ethernet adapter but
finds that the cable is not attached, it will stop checking for a
connection until the device is removed and reinserted into a
dock, or until the Check Ethernet Now button is tapped.
Note: Keepalive ping packets are included in your
WAN data bill, so be aware when choosing a
Keepalive interval that although the Keepalive ping
packet and its response packet are small (less than 100
bytes each), your wireless provider might charge a
minimum packet size.
The installation CD contains a .reg file with registry
values that can be modified.
