PASTEURISER UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
Unpacking
WARNING: Please make sure the pallet/crate has not been tipped or
dropped.
Check the Tip & Tell label on the side of the box has not filled up with
the blue ink. Check the Drop and Tell label has not been activated.
The chiller is a refrigeration unit and must not be tipped or dropped.
If it has been tipped or dropped do not accept delivery of equipment!
Remove the product from its packaging. Any damage please notify immediately.
Crate should comprise of:
1. S90 Pasteuriser, Two Hoses (Hot and Cold) & 2 Baskets (depending on order)
2. SD Card and reader
3. Spare Probe
4. Thermometer
5. Spirit Level
6. Temperature Warning Poster
7. Hand Over Certificate
8. Electrical Drawings
9. Pasteuriser Manual x 2
Hand over Certificate. Note: The Hand over certificate must be filled out and returned to
Medicare Colgate Ltd, failure to do so may invalidate the warranty.
Important
Do not connect the machine to the electricity supply until all the packing has
been removed. To obtain the best possible performance and trouble free
operation from your machine it is important that you read the Manuals carefully.
Failure to observe these instructions may invalidate your right to free service
during the guarantee period.

SPACER FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
The pasteuriser is supplied with spacers; these must be fitted to ensure correct space is around the pasteuriser. Once
fitted please send photo’s via email to sales[email protected], if spacers are not fitted it will invalidate the
warranty.
Spacers prevent the equipment to be placed to close to a wall or cupboard thus restricting ventilation
1. Using a 4mm allen key remove the screw at the back of the right hand side panel.
2. Fit the long screw provided with the spacers to the spacer.
3. Fit screw and spacer to the pasteuriser panel.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the left hand side panel.
5. For the back of the machine fit one of the short screws taken from the side panels to the spacer. Fit the spacer to
pasteuriser by the drain hose.
Now the pasteuriser is fitted with spacers it is ready to be put in to position.

PASTEURISER START UP INSTRUCTIONS
(For the hospital engineering department or equivalent)
First position pasteuriser on a level surface with ventilation areas kept clear, as
shown on the installation drawing page 24. Lower the levelling foot on the castor
by turning the red wheel on the castors, fine adjustment of the level may be
achieved by raising or lowering the levelling foot.
Fit spacers as per page 6 of this manual
Connect to power as per pages 8-9 in the installation section (ensure correct
power supply & sufficient voltage) PLEASE NOTE: Voltage must be stable otherwise the
pasteuriser may not run or could cause damage to the pasteuriser invalidating the warranty.
Electrical Connection and Surge Protection
Damage from electrical transients, or surges, is one of the leading causes of electrical
equipment damage.
Please ensure the machine is connected to a ‘clean’ and appropriate power supply and is
surge protected to avoid damage.
Please consult with an electrician for advice suited to your operation and conditions.
Create a folder for the milk bank, for them to save their graphs to file
Advise milk bank of exact location of this folder and any possible passwords
Run a Fridge Test (see maintenance section- probe calibration page 43 point 12)
as per instructions before running a cycle. This gets the chiller working properly
after transit. If this isn’t done the machine may fault on the first cycle. (please note
there will be a bang noise on start-up if the equipment has not been used for some
time refrigeration gases form a small liquid drop and on start-up this is coughed
out making a bang noise)
Check water levels are set correctly (see maintenance section 39 & 40 of this
manual)
Run a minimum of 1 test cycle with a full load before putting machine into
operation and forward the graph of this cycle to Sterifeed (support@sterifeed.com)
for a health check. See operator manual pages 19-22
Place the thermometer near the machine to monitor the temperature and place the
warning poster above the pasteuriser.
Note: Please be advised results may vary according to site conditions; minor
adjustments to the settings may be required.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS - CONT
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Supply AC only. The machine must not be used on DC supply.
1 Earthing warning - this appliance must be earthed.
The manufacturer declines any liability should this safety measure not be
observed.
2 Electrical connection - important:
The unit is supplied with a 13A plug which must be plugged into a corresponding
switch socket of the same type. (Please note, breaker must be C or D rated)
- green and yellow - earth
- blue - neutral
- brown live
Connect the wires to your plug or switch fuse. Since the colours of the wires in the mains
lead of the appliance may not correspond with the markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, connect the wires as follows. Connect the green and yellow (earth) wire to the
terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter E or coloured green or green/yellow.
Connect the blue (neutral) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter
N or coloured black. Connect the brown (live) wire to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter L or coloured red.
The socket outlet used must have a rating of 13A single phase.

WATER OUTLET CONNECTION
The drain hose should discharge into an air gap standpipe between 600mm & 900mm
above floor level. Details are shown below.
Note the hose must fall continuously from the back of the unit to the standpipe.
WATER SUPPLY
Water consumption: 85 Litres per cycle
Warning:
Maximum incoming hot water temperature is 55˚C (If higher, a temperature regulator will
be required)
Maximum incoming cold water temperature is 20˚C
The water supply must be clean drinking water and free from micro-organisms, and
sediment free as per EPA Primary Drinking Water Standards
http://web.mit.edu/watsan/methods_waterqualitystandards.html .
Maximum water hardness 200mg/L if the water hardness is above this level a water
softener should be fitted.
If water is not sediment free then an external filter should be fitted otherwise the
pasteuriser could be damaged.
Both hot and cold water supplies are preferable and they should be between 34.5 kN/m
2
(5 lb/in
2
) and 1034.2 kN/m
2
(150 lb/in
2
) pressure.
One hose should be connected between the hot supply and the threaded connection
labelled hot supply on the rear of the machine.
The other hose should be connected between the cold supply and the threaded
connection labelled cold supply on the rear of the machine.
Remember to insert a sealing washer at each connection point to ensure watertight
joints. Do not over tighten the connections by using tools - hand tight is sufficient to
prevent leaks.
