SHA-MGEIGCTRL-00 Wired Controller for J Geiger Wired Motors
Quick Reference Guide
The Wired Geiger Controller, which is used along with other modules of the same system, to assemble “modular”
control units with custom and advanced functions. Each control unit is intended to manage the corresponding
motors via wiring to automate various application functions in the Savant Pro App.

Hardware Overview
DIN Rail Overview
The modules must be hooked to the DIN rail in
one direction only: if they are connected together
incorrectly, outside the DIN rail, then powered, they
may be damaged beyond repair.
IMPORTANT!: The modules must be connected
to each other ONLY, when they ARE NOT
powered.
All the modules included must be installed inside an
electrical panel, positioned one after the other and
hooked to one, or more DIN rails.
Factory Settings
To reset the module to its factory settings, press
and hold the “Reset” button for 5 seconds.
LED
Link On = Connection ready.
Act
Flashing = Ethernet port is sending/
receiving trac.
T4 Packet
Flashing = BUS T4 is sending/receiving
trac.
TD packet
Flashing = DIN BUS is sending/receiving
trac.
Service
Flashing = Power and data has been
suppled to the DMBM (DIN Module Building

Wiring and Installation instructions:
Controller connections:
1. Network Connection
– Connect the Geiger Motor Controller LAN Port to a LAN Ethernet port that is able to communicate
with the Savant Host using a standard CAT5e/6/7 cable.
2. SERIAL Connection to Shades
– Connect the Controller to the SERIAL IN Port on a
PMOD5G using a standard CAT5/CAT6 cable with
the pinout displayed to the right.
– PIN 1 to L #21 Connector.
– PIN 2 to H #22 Connector.
– PINs 3-6 have no connections.
– PINs 7 and 8 to GND #20 Connector.
NOTE: If using multiple PMOD5Gs, they must be daisy
chained with CAT5e/6/7 cable via the SERIAL IN/OUT
Connections.
3. Controller Power Connection (see diagram below)
– Connect the SHA-MGEIGCTRL power to the 24V
Connector on the PMOD5G.
– #4 Controller connection to -24V DC.
– #5 Controller connection to +24V DC.
Warnings:
• All installation and connection operations must be carried out in the absence of mains electrical power
and must be performed by a qualified electrician in full compliance with the law, electricity regulations and
applicable safety standards.
• Strictly observe all the connection instructions: incorrect connection can cause faults or dangerous situations.
• It is forbidden to install the modules outdoors.
• To ensure the module operates correctly, the SHA-MGEIGCTRL must be powered by the 24V DC output of the
SHA-PMOD5G.
