Observe the local safety regulations governing the prevention of
accidents.
Keep the CamCrane away from children.
Operate the CamCrane under the supervision of trained personnel
only.
Do not leave the CamCrane unattended when set up.
All persons must be kept out of the CamCranes required pan
range.
Please also be aware that people can suddenly walk into the pan
range area.
The planned movement sequence must be tested before shooting
begins, with particular attention to the necessary height of the site
being used.
Avoid abrupt stops.
Always take care when lowering the camera end of the crane to the
ground or floor on completing a crane movement.
Never let go of the crane before a crane movement is completed.
Follow the steps for lowering the camera and weights in the correct
sequence.
Otherwise the camera head or the weight rod can spring up
unexpectedly.
Secure the camera with the safety strap during shooting breaks, tilt
the camera down and remove the counterweights.
Please take note that there are a number of points where jamming
can take place (e.g. when fitting pipes together, tightening cables or
moving the crane arm).

6 CamCrane EFP
The CamCrane EFP is the ideal traveling crane. Well-packed away in its transport
bags it measures just 1.5 m / 411in length and can therefore be taken anywhere.
The unique Sachtler damping system ensures vibration-free crane movements for the
best possible picture quality.
The crane can be used to control both the cameras horizontal movement and
top/bottom views. Using the spindle, the operator can easily set and adjust the
cameras position from the cranes tripod head, even when the camera is mounted.
Outriggers, towers and tension cables give the entire construction exceptional stability.
The CamCrane EFP is telescopable and can be adjusted by the operator quickly and
easily without tools.
A flat-base connection is a standard accessory of the CamCrane EFP. We recommend
the combination with the Sachtler OB 2000 tripod. Other tripod connections are also
available.
The crane has a maximum payload of 18 kg / 39.7 lb (camera weight at full extension
with a telescopic length of long). Its innovative design guarantees vibration-free 360°
panning. Bubble levels for crane and camera adjustment are a standard feature.

Õ First, hang the basic cables to the weight
pipe.
In the process, please be sure to follow the
color-coding.
Basic cables are not required for assembly
with the cable set super-short .
In this case, hang one end of each cable to
the weight pipe and the other end directly to
the pipe with the camera plate.
Õ Hang the basic cables snap hook to the
cable set ring appropriate to the desired
crane arm length.
Õ Hang the other end of the cable to the pipe
with the camera plate.
Please be sure to follow the color-coding.
Assembly for crane arm length long:
Each tower and outrigger cable in the
cable set long consists of two cable
sets. One cable end is attached to the
basic cable, and the other cable ends are
hung on the support pipe and the pipe
with the camera plate.
Assembly for crane arm length extra-
long: Extension cables are used to
extend the cables in the cable set long.
After all cables have been hung, the next step is
to tighten them.
Õ Lay the cables in the guiding slots at the ends
of the outriggers and towers on the main pipe
(all lengths) and the support pipes (for crane
arm lengths "long" and "extra-long".)
Manual CamCrane EFP
- 39 -
Õ To tighten the cables, next pull the outriggers
and towers towards the tripod. Start by
tightening the blue colored tower cables.
For crane arm lengths longand extra-
long: First fold the towers and outriggers on
the support pipe upwards, and then the
towers and outriggers on the main pipe.
Õ Take care to create optimal cable tension during crane assembly.
Cable tension on all towers and outriggers can be re-adjusted.
In order to do so, take the desired tower cable or outrigger cable out of the guiding
slot.
Next, unscrew the screw on the head of the tower or outrigger 180°.
Hang the cable again and pull the tower/outrigger once again towards the tripod to
tighten the cable.
If the cable is not yet tight enough, repeat the procedure.
Note
The innermost edge of the tower or outriggers head may not reach any
further than the outermost edge of the end piece. If it is no longer
possible to achieve this position, a new cable must be used.

7.5 Mounting the Control Cable
The control cable can be used for all crane arm lengths, as several stopping sleeves
are found on the cable at intervals.
For shorter crane arm lengths, the length of the control cable can be shortened by
attaching the stopping sleeve you desire.
For set-ups with the crane arm length extra-long, the control cable is extended with
an extension cable.
F
Important
Surplus cable should be rolled up and fastened with a Velcro ribbon, so
that no one can get tangled in it.
Õ Lay the cable that the
camera plate is
fastened to in a
clockwise direction
around the black disk
on the camera plate
and connect it with the
control cable (colored
yellow).
Õ To do this attach the
snap hook to the small
ring on the control
cable.
The control cable needs to be extended if you want to carry out extreme movements
for top and bottom views. For this purpose attach the snap hook to the extension
element on the control cable.
