6.3.2 Encode
Set parameters for video and audio coding. Theîleft
column controls theîseparate channelsâ image quality.
Theîright column is aîsub-stream, aîmirrored stream
of images to save bandwidth when monitoring from
external computers or mobile phones.
6.3.3 Network
Set network parameters, IP addresses, gateway,
http,îetc.
⢠Channel: Channel setting, 1â8 orîall.
⢠Compression: Theîonly video coding format you can
select is H.264 and Extra Stream 1 in sub-stream.
⢠Resolution: Channel 1 and 2 can use all
accessible resolutions from theîlowest QCIF
(176îĂî144) to CIF (352îĂî288), HD1 (704îĂî288)
and theîhighest D1 (704îĂî576). Cameras using
theîhighest resolution should therefore be
connected to channel 1 and 2. Theîsub-stream
resolution for channel 1 and 2 is QCIF (176îĂî144)
and CIF (352îĂî288).
⢠Frame Rate (FPS): 1â25 frames per second.
⢠Bit Rate Type: VBR (variable bitrate) or CBR
(constant bitrate). VBR adapts theîrecording to
maximise hard disk space. CBR is used to set
aîďŹxed bit rate which can be adapted to suit
theîprevailing conditions, bandwidth and hard disk
space, etc. Settings are made in Bit Rate (kB/s).
⢠Quality: Setîtheîimage quality if VBR is selected above.
⢠Bit Rate (kbit/s): SeeîBit Rate Typeîabove.
⢠I-Frame Interval:
A high value provides more consistency in
theîimage during playback.
A low value requires fewer system resources,
which is preferable for transfers via Extra Stream.
ExtraîStream is used when streaming via
aînetwork to aîmobile phone for example.
Too high aîvalue could result in theîsystem
resources being inadequate to display images
inîrealîtime.
Note: TheîI-Frame Interval settings also inďŹuence
theîDecode settings in Play Mode (Record-
Playback-Search Condition (magnifying glass)).
⢠Video/Audio: Activate and deactivate Video and
Audio from theîsettings above.
⢠Net Card: Selectîaînetwork card.
⢠DHCP Enable: Isîactivated from theîfactory.
⢠IP Address: SetîtheîIP address manually when
DHCP is not active. Default: 192.168.1.10.
⢠Subnet Mask: Setîthis manually when DHCP is
not active. Default: 255.255.255.0.
⢠Gateway: Setîthis manually when DHCP is not
active. Default: 192.168.1.1.
⢠Primary DNS: Ifînecessary, specify theîIP number
of theîprimary DNS server.
⢠Secondary DNS: Ifînecessary, specify theîIP
number of theîsecondary DNS server.
⢠Media Port: TCP-port. Default: 34567. Inîorder
to be able to view images from theîsurveillance
system outside your local network, such as on
your mobile phone, you might need to reset
theîport controls on your router. MediaîPort
enables you to change theîport number in
theîDVR.
⢠HTTP-port: Default: 80.
⢠HS-Download: Prioritises theîtransfer rate from
theîDVR to theîconnected client.
⢠Transfer Policy: Setting for theîprioritisation of
theîďŹle transfer. Adaptive: Adaptsîtheîquality
and speed to suit theîprevailing conditions.
QualityîPreferred: Prioritises quality.
FluencyîPreferred: Prioritises speed.
