THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AXLER.
The Axler VM-2307CF Spruce is a professional four-section
video monopod with a fluid head. This monopod provides
you with twist locks to quickly extend each section up to 80
in. (203 cm) for overhead shots, or collapse the monopod
down to 28 in. (71 cm) for low-angle shooting. Three locking
feet help the monopod to reinforce stabilization, which can
lessen the stress on your arm when holding your camera
rig for long hours. The fluid head provides smooth pan-and-
tilt motion and has a large handle that extends and offers
enhanced camera handling. A quick-release plate is included,
affording you the ability to mount or dismount your camera
with ease.
QUICK-RELEASE PLATE
The quick-release plate allows you to speedily mount
and dismount your camera with 1/4 in. and 3/8 in.
mounting studs. The studs can be stored in the
appropriate accessory sockets when not in use.
1. Loosen the quick-release plate locking knob.
2. Press the safety button, and slide the plate out of the
receiver.
3. Attach the quick-release plate to the bottom of your
camera, using either of the mounting studs.
4. Insert the camera/plate assembly into the plate receiver
while pressing the safety button.
5. Tighten the quick-release plate locking knob.
EXTENDING THE MONOPOD
There are four sections with twist locks that allow you to
customize the length of the monopod.
1. With one hand around the padded grip, twist one of the
locks clockwise a quarter-turn, and extend the section.
2. Twist the lock counterclockwise to tighten and lock the
section in place.
Note: It is possible to use one hand to twist all of the locks at
the same time and extend all sections at once. Then you
can lock each section one at a time.
VIDEO PAN HANDLE
The handle can be used on either side of the fluid head and is
able to extend to allow for better camera handling.
1. Rotate the handle’s twist lock clockwise to loosen.
2. Extend the handle.
3. Rotate the twist lock counterclockwise to tighten.
USING THE MONOPOD FEET
To reinforce stabilization, flip out the feet until they lock
into position.
The feet have an
integrated ballhead.
To move the monopod
on its vertical axis:
1. Loosen the pivot
locking wheel.
2. Use the hex key to
loosen the pivot tension
screw, located under the
rubber pad. If the ballhead
moves too easily, slightly tighten the tension screw
until you arrive at the desired ballhead tension.
3. Loosen or tighten the pivot locking wheel to adjust
the range of motion away from the vertical axis.
It is recommended to always keep a hand
on the monopod while in use.
To fold the feet, press each foot lock, and move
the feet to the folded position. This will expose the
rubber pad that you can rest the monopod on.
To remove the feet, use the hex key to loosen the foot set
screw, and then rotate the feet clockwise to unscrew them.
When detached, the feet can be used as a
tabletop tripod by attaching a tripod head.
To attach the alternate rubber pad, screw it into the base
socket and use the hex key to tighten the foot set screw.
REPLACING THE HEAD
You can switch out or replace the fluid head with the
included 3 mm hex key:
1. Use the 3 mm hex key to loosen (but not remove) all of
the three screws underneath the baseplate, It may be
necessary to rotate the wrist strap out of the way to
expose all of the screws.
2. Rotate the head counterclockwise to remove it.
3. Seat the replacement head onto the mounting stud, and
rotate clockwise until secure.
If necessary, you can reverse the 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. mounting
stud to attach the head:
1. Loosen the baseplate’s top hex set screw.
2. Rotate the baseplate counterclockwise.
3. Reinsert the stud, and rotate the base clockwise
until fully tightened.
4. Tighten the baseplate’s top hex set screw.
