• Whenoperating the model aircraft, sufcientcooling must be provided forthe

controlunitandmotor.

• Avoidblockingthedrive.Thehighvoltagecoulddestroythemotorand/ortheight

controller.Ifthemotorisblockedbyforexampleanobstructionofthepropeller,

immediatelymovethecontrolleverforthemotorfunctiontotheoffposition.

• Whenusingageareddrive,makesureithasasmooth,regularlyserviceddrive

train.

• Handletheproductwithcare;itcanbedamagedbyimpact,blows,oraccidental

dropping,evenfromalowheight.

• Donotleavethepackagingmateriallyingaroundcarelessly,sinceitcouldbecome

adangeroustoyforchildren.

Connectthetwomotorconnectioncables(6)ontherightsidesofthecontrolunittothemotor

(7).Dependingontheintendeduse,youcouldsolderthecablesontothemotororuseplug

connectorstoadapttotheperformancerangeofthecontrolunit.Ineachcasetheconnectors

mustbeconnectedsothatthecable(forexamplebyusingappropriateshrinkingtubes)are

securedagainstshortcircuits.

Whenconnectingthemotor,ensurethatthepolarityofthecableiscorrect,sothatthemotor

doesnotrotateintheoppositedirection(redcable=positivepolarity/+,blackcable=nega-

tivepolarity/-).Theconnectedelectricmotormustbeproperlyprotectedfrominterferenceas

prescribedbythemanufacturer.

Solderaplugtothebatterycables(1)thattyourchosenbatteryplugsystem.Payattentionto

therightpolarity(redcable=positivepole/+,blackcable=negativepole/-).

Set the jumpers

Thebreakfunctionaswellasthebatterytypeusedcanbesetusingbothjumpers.

Whenusingaelectricglidermodelwithfold-waypropeller,youmustactivatethebreak.Insert

thetopjumper(4)sothatthemiddleandtopcontactareconnectedtoeachother(BrakeON).

Inamodelplanewitharigidpropeller,thebrakemustbedeactivated.Insertthetopjumper(4)

sothatthemiddleandlowercontactareconnectedtoeachother(BrakeOFF).

WhenusingaLiPodrivebattery,thelowerjumper(5)mustbeinsertedsothatthemiddleand

theuppercontactareconnected("Li-xx").Whenreaching3V/cell,thecontrollerreducesthe

motorpowertoprotectthebatteryfromtotaldischarge.WhenusingaNiCd/NiMHdrivebattery,

thelowerjumper(5)mustbeinsertedsothatthemiddleandthelowercontactsareconnected

("Ni-xx").

Important!

 Thejumpersmayonlybereconnectediftheplanebatteryisnotconnectedtothe

controller.Neverreconnectthejumperswhiletheplanebatteryisstillconnectedto

thecontroller.

Mounting the control unit

Iftheproductistobeusedasareplacementforanexistingightcontroller,rstremovetheold

controlunitfromyourmodel.

Nowmountthecontrolunittothemodel.Dependingonthespaceavailable,selectthesame

mountinglocation.Ideallythisshouldbeasfarawayfromthereceiveraspossible.Thecontrol

unitshouldalsonotbedirectlynexttothemotor.

 Hook-and-looptape or adouble-sided adhesivetape canbe used tomount the

controlunit.

Positionallcablessothattheycannotbecomeentangledinrotatingormovingpartsofthe

model.Usecabletiestoafxthem,forexample.

Intended Use

Theproductisanelectronicmodelplanecontrolunit,whichisconnectedtoafreechannelof

aremotecontrolreceiverformodelaeroplaneswithsteplessspeedadjustmentofabrushless

motor(collectormotorwithtwoterminals).ThecontrolunithasaBECcircuit,whichsupplies

powertotheradioreceiverandtheconnectedservosfromtheightbatteries.

Forsafetyandcompliancereasons,theproductmustnotbeconvertedand/ormodiedinany

way.Ifyouusetheproductforotherpurposesthanthosedescribedabove,theproductmaybe

damaged.Furthermore,improperusecancauseriskssuchasshort-circuits,re,etc.Please

readtheoperatinginstructionscarefullyanddonotdiscardthem.Ifyoupasstheproductonto

athirdparty,pleaseincludetheoperatinginstructions.

thebatterypackandswitchiton.Whenswitchingoffproceedinthereverseorder.

First,whenthemotorisnotrunning,thecontrolunitmustbedisconnectedfrom

thebattery,afterwhichthetransmittercanbeturnedoff.

• Alwaysdisconnectthebatteryfromthecontrolunitwhennotinuse.

• Beforerechargingthebatteryitmustbedisconnectedfromthecontrolunit.

• ThecontrolunitcanbeoperatedwithNiMH-/NiCdaswellasLiPobatteries.

• Themaximumallowedvoltageandcurrentvalue(seesection:TechnicalData)

maynotbeexceeded,otherwisethemotorand/orightcontrollercouldbede-

stroyed.Non-compliancewiththelimitswillvoidtheguarantee/warranty.

• Themotor,controlunitandbatteriescanbecomeveryhotduringoperation.This

mayresultinseriousburns.

• Whenhandlingmodelaircraft,makesurenopartsofthebodyorobjectscome

intocontactwithrotatingparts.Improperhandlingwillincreasetheriskofinjury!

• Onlyoperatethecontrolunitwithabatterypack;neverwithapoweradapter.

• Onlyconnectonesinglebrushlessmotortotheightcontroller.

• Thebrushlesscontrolunitisnotsuitableforoperatingbrushlessmotorswiththree

connections!

• Maintainthebiggestpossibledistancebetweenthereceiverandcontrolunit/motor

fortheinstallationtoavoidinteraction.

• Donotinstallthereceiver'santennacableparalleltothecurrent-carryingcables.

Connection to the receiver

Connectthethree-pinplugofthecontrolunit(2)totheoutputofthereceiverfromwhichthe

motorcontrolsignalsaretransmitted.Makeabsolutelysureyouhavethecorrectreceivercon-

gurationandthattheplug'spolarityiscorrect(seeoperationinstructionsforthereceiveras

wellastheinscriptiononthereceiver).

 Important!

 Thebuilt-inBECsystemsuppliesthenecessarycurrenttotheconnectedreceiver

andservo.

 Iftheservo'scurrentconsumptionishigherthan1A,removethemiddlecontact(the

contactwiththeredcable)fromthe3-pinconnectorconnectedtothereceiver.Use

aneedletoliftthecontact'slockingtongueandpullthecontactbackwardsfromthe

connector.Theninsulatetheopencontactplugwithshrinktubingorinsulationtape.

 Thepowersupplyofthereceiverandtheservomustnowbeconnectedviaasepa-

ratereceiverbattery.

 SimultaneousoperationofthereceiverbatteryandBECsystemisnotpermitted!

Failuretocomplywiththisinstructionwilldestroythecontrolunit!Thewarranty/

guaranteewillbevoid!

Using the control unit

• Beforeuse,checkthatthepolarityofallconnectionsiscorrectandthatbothjumpersare

setcorrectly.

 Forsafetyreasonsthepropellershouldbedismantledforthersttestofthedrive

unit.

 Duringmotortestrunswithapropeller,makesurenoobjectsorbodypartsarenear

therotationandintakeareaofthepropeller.

• Turnthetransmitteronandslidethecontrolstickforthemotorfunctiontothelowestposition

(motoroff).Thetrimsettingforthemotorfunctionmustbeinthecentrepositionorotherwise

thelowestsetting.

• Connectthedrivebatterytothecontrolunit.

• Oncethepowersupplytothecontrolunitisturnedon,itwillperformaself-test.Oncethe

self-testhasbeensuccessfullycompleted,themotorwillsoundalongsignaltone.

• Nowmovethejoystickgraduallyinthedirectionofmax.motorpoweruntilthemotorstarts

andcheckthatthemotorisrunningintherightdirection.Ifnot,swapthepolarityofthemotor

connectioncables(6).

• Nowtestthecorrectfunctioningofthemotorcontrol.

Warning signals

 Thecontrolunitindicatesproblemsbysoundingwarningsignals.Thesearegener-

atedbyshortactivation of theconnectedmotor.Sincethe beeps areveryquiet

dependingonthemotorused,itmustbeabsolutelyquietintheroomsothatthe

soundscanbeheardclearly.

• Ifthesupplycurrentistoolow,twoshortwarningsignalswillsoundcontinuously,followedby

apauseofapproximately1.5seconds.

• Ifthesupplycurrentistoohigh,thecontrolunitwillemitlongwarningsignalsevery4sec-

onds.

• Ifthecontrolunitnolongerreceivesavalidsignal,itwillemitashortbeep1.5seconds.Inthis

case,theconnectedmotorwillbeswitchedoff.Oncethecontrolunitreceivesagoodsignal

again,themotorandpositionsofthecontrolleverwillbeactivatedagain.

• Ifthemotorcontrolleverisnotinthemotoroffpositionwhentheightbatteryisconnected,or

ifthetrimissetincorrectly,themotorwillbrieyemitbeepsinrapidsuccession.Ifthecontrol

leverandtrimmingareinthecorrectpositionbutthemotorstillemitsshortwarningsignals,

changethecontroldirectionofthecontrolchannelforthemotorusingthereversefunction.

Ending operation

Todeactivatethecontrolunit,turnoffthemotorusingtheremotecontrol/transmitter.Then

removethebatteryfromtheplanecontrolunitandturnoffthetransmitter.

Disposal

 Theproductmustnotbedisposedofwiththehouseholdwaste.Disposeofanun-

serviceabledeviceinaccordancewiththerelevantstatutoryregulations.
