SonicWALL WiFi Cloud Manager is a cloud-based management platform that provides centralized visibility and control over your SonicWALL wireless network. With the WiFi Cloud Manager, you can:

  • Provision and manage SonicWALL access points: Provision and configure SonicWALL access points from a single, central location.
  • Monitor network health: Monitor the health of your wireless network in real-time, including access point status, client connectivity, and traffic patterns.
  • Configure security policies: Configure security policies for your wireless network, including firewall rules, access control lists, and intrusion prevention.

This Quick Start Guide provides instructions for downloading SonicWiFi, registering access points, and creating a
mesh network. SonicWiFi provides a simple zero-touch option for registering access points as well as creating a
wireless mesh network.

Installing SonicWiFi
The SonicWiFi mobile app is available for download from the App store for iOS and the Play store for Android.
To install SonicWiFi:
1 Download the SonicWiFi mobile app.
2Open SonicWiFi.
3Touch GET STARTED.

Registering SonicWave Access Points
Zero-Touch registration enables you to register your SonicWave access points in less than a minute. Register
your access points by logging into the wireless cloud manager, scanning access points, and connecting access
points to your wireless network.
To register your access points using SonicWiFi mobile app:
1 Touch the Menu icon at the top of the screen.
2Touch Register SonicWave. The Scan QR Label screen displays.
3Touch Scan to open the QR scanner.
4 Position the scan area over the QR code on the access point packaging. The Register SonicWave screen
displays.
5 Verify the information then touch Register. The Registering screen displays.
6Touch OK.
7The Registration successful message appears when the device is registered. The device is now listed on
MSW > Product Management > My Products.
8Touch Select Zone to assign the SonicWave to a Zone.
9 Select Default Location/Default Zone. It may take a few minutes for the access point to appear in the
cloud server.
10 The Success message indicates the SonicWave is added to the zone.
NOTE: International users have the option to select country.
NOTE: The device radio is enabled by default. You can disable the radio from the CSC | SW-CMS > Network
> Devices page. Click the Configure icon for the SonicWave then click the Radio tab to configure radio
settings.
NOTE: The SonicWave access point requires zone assignment for firmware upgrade and device
management.

11 Touch Register More to register additional SonicWaves or click Done to exit.
12 On a management computer, login to Capture Security Center and click the Wireless tile.
13 Navigate to Network > Devices and verify the access point is listed with a green Online status indicator.
After registering your access points using the SonicWiFi mobile app, verify the device is on-line, then update
device firmware.
Upgrading SonicWave Firmware
Upgrade your SonicWave firmware after registering your SonicWave access points.
To update SonicWave firmware:
1 On a management computer, navigate to Capture Security Center and click the Wireless tile.
2Navigate to Settings and hover over a SonicWave series to see the upgrade icon.
3 Click the upgrade icon to push the latest update to all registered SonicWaves.
4 Verify the update was successful by navigating to Network > Devices and confirm that the access point is
running the updated software.

Using Mesh Setup Guide
Create a mesh network by selecting Mesh Setup Guide then follow the prompts.
To setup a guided mesh network:
1Touch Create a new network. The Mesh Setup Guide detects available zones within your selected
tenant.
2 Select the Default Location/Default Zone. The Mesh Setup Guide detects WiFi names/SSIDs available
within the selected zone.
3 Select the Default SSID. The WiFi settings screen displays.
4Enter a new WiFi Name/SSID and Password then touch Confirm.
5 Optionally, keep the default settings by selecting No change.
6 Power on your SonicWave and connect it to the Internet. The SonicWave may take a few minutes to
connect. A solid blue power LED indicates an active power source.
7Touch Scan. The Scan QR Code label screen displays.
8 SonicWiFi verifies device registration. Click Continue. SonicWiFi automatically configures your
SonicWave access point. This process can take up to a few minutes for the access point to appear on-
line.
9The Mesh Summary displays the WiFi Name, PSK, lists the number of SonicWaves on-line, and the
number of devices connected. The mesh portal is now active.
10 To add additional mesh points, click Add another SonicWave.
11 Position the SonicWave then click Continue.
NOTE: Ensure that your SonicWave is powered on and that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
NOTE: You can use the WWiFi Planner tool to optimize access point position. The WiFi Planner tool
is available in the Wireless Cloud Manager. For more information about the WiFi Planner, refer to

12 Power on the SonicWave and ensure that bluetooth is active on your mobile device.
13 Touch Confirm. The Scan QR label screen displays.
14 Touch Scan.
15 Scan the QR label on the SonicWave packaging or on the back of the device. SonicWiFi verifies
registration and checks-in the device.
16 Click Continue. SonicWiFi configures the mesh network. This may take a few minutes.
17 The Success message displays.
18 Click add another SonicWave and repeat steps 11-17, or click Done to exit setup.
Viewing Your Network Settings
View your WiFi network settings and status including zone security details, the number of SonicWaves, and the
number clients.
To view your WiFi network zone settings:
1 Touch the Menu icon at the top of the screen and select View WiFi Network.
2Touch Continue.
3 Select a zone. The Network Zone Overview displays.
4Touch Done.

Troubleshooting
The Troubleshooting Center enables you to troubleshoot a SonicWave using your mobile phone to connect to a
SonicWave device for troubleshooting diagnostics.
To troubleshoot an access point:
1 Click the menu icon and select Troubleshooting.
2 Open the WiFi settings on your mobile device to discover the SonicWave. The SonicWave's SSID/WiFi
Name are displayed in the phone's WiFi settings page.
3 Select the SonicWave to connect with your mobile device.
4 Return to the Troubleshooting Center and click Start. SonicWiFi runs diagnostics on the SonicWave.
5 The interactive diagnostic page displays SonicWave diagnostic information.
