DEVICE INSTALLATION
Step 1
Make sure that your HDMI enabled device and televisions/monitors are turned off.
Step 2
Using an HDMI cable (not included), connect the HDMI output of your source device to the HDMI input
on the rear panel of the HDMI splitter.
Step 3
Using HDMI cables connect the HDMI Splitter outputs to the HDMI inputs on your televisions/monitors.
NOTE: The maximum recommended HDMI cable length connecting the source device to the HDMI
splitter is 10m. The maximum recommended HDMI cable length connecting the HDMI splitter to your
televisions/monitors is 15m. Attempting to use cables longer than the recommended length may cause
the image to flicker, become distorted or no image to appear at all. Cable quality will affect distance
between the source device, the HDMI splitter and televisions/monitors. To obtain maximum distance we
recommend using cables constructed with a larger wire gauge. For best performance, we recommend
using SonicWave™ High-Speed HDMI™ cables.

DEVICE INSTALLATION
Step 4
Plug in the included 5VDC power adapter to the rear panel of the HDMI splitter, and connect the opposite
end into a receptacle outlet.
Step 5
Power on source device as well as your televisions/monitors.
Step 6
Change your televisions/monitors to its HDMI input (please refer to your television/monitor owner’s manual if
assistance is needed with changing inputs).
Step 7
The LED output indicator will illuminate to show proper connection and “handshake”.
9
CASCADING THE SPLITTER
The HDMI outputs on the rear panel of the splitter are capable of being split up to three levels. This can be
referred to as cascading or daisy-chaining. With the two-way splitter, you can take one source device (DVD
player, satellite or cable receiver, etc.) and split it so that you can connect up to eight televisions/monitors at
the same time. With the four-way splitter, you can have your source device going to sixteen
televisions/monitors by cascading or daisy-chaining. To connect your devices, do the following:
Step 1
Make sure that your HDMI enabled device and televisions/monitors are turned off.
Step 2
Using an HDMI cable no longer than 10m, connect your source device’s HDMI output to the input of the first
splitter.
Step 3
From the outputs of the first splitter, use two HDMI cables no longer than 15m to connect to two different
HDMI splitter inputs.
Step 4
From each of those HDMI splitters use four HDMI cables (two for each splitter) no longer than 15m to
connect to four additional splitter inputs
Step 5
From those four splitters you can now use eight HDMI cables no longer than 15m to connect to eight
televisions/monitors (two televisions/monitors from each splitter).

CASCADING THE SPLITTER
NOTE: The resolution mode will depend on the first of the sequenced display devices that can successfully communicate
with source device. The detect sequence of 40471 is from Port 1 to Port 2, and 40472 is from Port 1 to Port 4. Make sure
your display devices can support the highest resolution as source device can support, and your display devices are HDCP
compliant and fully support HDCP.
This HDMI 1.3 Splitter will distribute one resolution at a time. If the HDMI 1.3 Splitter is connected to multiple HDTVs
that support different resolutions (720p, 1080i, 1080p), it is recommend to adjust the output resolution of the source device to
match the resolution of the HDTV that has the lowest resolution.
For example, the HDMI 1.3 Splitter (40472) is connected to 4 HDTVs, and one of them supports 720p HD resolution, but
others can support up to 1080p. If you want the displays to show the same HD content, please set the output resolution of
source device to 720p.
