Intended use

This mini-speaker is intended exclusively for connecting to mobile

audio devices such as MP3 players, mobile phones etc. using a

3.5 mm jackplug. This device is exclusively intended for non-com-

mercial use. The device is not intended for any other use or for uses

extending beyond those stated. Claims of any kind for damage arising

as a result of non-intended use will not be accepted. The user is the

sole bearer of the risk.

Safety

This section provides you with important safety information regarding

the handling of the device. The device complies with the statutory

safety regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and

property damage.

Basic safety instructions

For safe handling of the device, follow the safety information below:

■ Before use, check the device for visible external damage.

Do not use a device that has been damaged or dropped.

■ Damaged cables or connections should be replaced by the

Customer Service department.

■ This device is not intended for use by persons (including children)

with limited physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or lack

of experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by

a person who is responsible for their safety, or receive instructions

from this person on how to use the device.

with the device.

■ Always have repairs carried out by authorised specialist companies

or the Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose

signiﬁ cant risks to the user. Warranty claims also become void.

■ Repairs to the device during the warranty period may only be

carried out by a customer service department authorised by the

manufacturer. Otherwise no additional warranty claims can be

considered for subsequent damage.

■ Do not make any unauthorised modiﬁ cations or alterations to

the device.

■ Do not operate the device close to open ﬂ ames.

■ Do not place the device in locations that are subject to direct

sunlight as this could lead to overheating and cause irreparable

damage.

■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration. Never

submerge the device in water and do not place objects ﬁ lled

with liquids (such as vases) on the device.

Erroneous handling of the battery can lead to ﬁ re,

► Do not throw the device into ﬁ re, since the integrated battery

may explode.

► Avoid short circuiting at the battery and do not bring the poles

of the battery into contact with conductive or metal objects.

► The battery must not be dismantled, opened, crushed, bent,

deformed, pierced or shredded

► If the battery leaks, keep the escaping ﬂ uid away from the

eyes and skin. If you come into contact with the ﬂ uid, wash

aﬀ ected areas with plenty of water and consult a doctor.

► If the battery is accidentally swallowed, seek medical assis-

tance immediately.

Initial operation

WARNING

► Packaging materials such as plastic ﬁ lm or polystyrene must

not be used as a plaything. There is a risk of suﬀ ocation!

packaging or through transportation, contact the Service

Disposal of packaging

The packaging protects the device from transport damage.

The packaging materials have been selected in accordance with

their environmental friendliness and disposal attributes, and are

therefore recyclable.

The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit

saves on raw material and reduces the amount of waste

generated. Dispose of packaging material that is no

longer needed in accordance with applicable local

regulations.

Requirements for the setup location

For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the setup location

must fulﬁ l the following requirements:

■ The device must be placed on a ﬁ rm, ﬂ at and level surface.

■ Do not place the device in a hot, wet or extremely moist environ-

ment or close to ﬂ ammable materials.

■ Do not place the device in direct sunlight.

Handling and use

This section provides you with important information on handling and

using the device.

Charging the battery

The integrated battery must be fully charged before using the device.

♦ Ensure that the On/Oﬀ switch

is in the OFF position.

♦ Connect the USB connector of the charging cable

to a

PC or a USB power supply.

♦ Connect the Mini USB connector of the charging cable

the POWER INPUT connection socket

of the device. The

operating LED

illuminates in red and the battery is charged.

NOTE

► The operating LED

illuminates in red during the charging

procedure and in blue after the battery has been fully charged.

► The maximum charging time is about 4 hours, and allows

music to be played for up to 8 hours at a volume level of 50%.

► As soon as the operating LED

illuminates in red, the

battery is empty and requires charging.

Speaker operation

♦ Completely unwind the speaker cable

from the cable

storage (underside of device).

♦ Connect the 3.5 mm jackplug of the speaker cable

to your

playback device.

♦ Switch the speaker on by moving the On/Oﬀ switch

the ON position. The operating LED

illuminates in blue.

♦ Switch on your player and select the required volume using

the volume control

♦ To obtain a rich bass tone, move the BASS switch

to the

ON position.

♦ To switch the speaker oﬀ again, move the On/Oﬀ switch

to the OFF position. The operating LED

goes out.

Aux-In operation

Many electronic entertainment devices are equipped with a 3.5 mm

jack socket. If your player has a connector that diﬀ ers from the audio

output socket, use a suitable adapter if necessary, or connect it to the

AUX-IN

connection socket using an adapter cable. The relevant

adapter/adapter cable is available from specialist dealers.

NOTE

►

If you have connected playback devices to the AUX-IN

connection socket

and the speaker cable

at the same

time, only the sound from the AUX-IN connection socket

will be played.

Fault rectiﬁ cation

This section contains important information on fault localisation and

rectiﬁ cation. Observe the instructions in order to avoid risks and

damage.

Malfunction causes and remedies

The following table will help with localising and remedying minor

malfunctions:

Cleaning

CAUTION

Possible damage to the device

► To avoid irreparable damage, ensure that no moisture enters

the device during cleaning.

■ Clean the housing of the device only with a lightly moistened

cloth and a mild detergent.

Storage/Disposal

Storage

■ Switch oﬀ the speaker by moving the On/Oﬀ switch

to the

OFF position.

■ Wind the speaker cable

clockwise onto the cable storage

and clip the 3.5 mm jackplug into the recess.

■ Store the device in a dry environment.

Disposal of the device

Do not dispose of the device in your normal

domestic waste. This product is subject to

the provisions of European Directive

2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and

Electronic Equipment).

Dispose of the device through an approved disposal

centre or at your community waste facility. Please

observe the currently applicable regulations. Please

contact your waste disposal centre should you be in

any doubt.

The warranty provided for this device is 3 years from the date of pur-

chase. This device has been manufactured with care and inspected

meticulously prior to delivery.

Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a

warranty claim, please contact the Customer Service by telephone.

This is the only way to guarantee free return of your goods.

NOTE

The warranty covers only claims for material and manufac-

turing defects, not for transport damages, worn parts or for

damage to fragile components, e.g. switches or batteries.

This device is intended solely for private use and not for commercial

purposes. The warranty is deemed void if this product has been sub-

jected to improper or inappropriate handling, abuse or modiﬁ cations

that were not carried out by one of our authorised service centres.

Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs made under the

warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Damage

and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported im-

mediately after unpacking, or no later than two days after the date

of purchase. Repairs made after expiry of the warranty period are
