1. Are you using the correct pairing Mode according to your phone?
It is of most importance to establish whether the phone uses Handsfree or Headset Modes
for Pairing, and to use the appropriate mode. If both are available, use Handsfree. (To find
out which mode your phone uses, refer to table 1 in the Talkpad User Manual, or look in the
Bluetooth section of your phones manual,)
2. Why is the Talkpad Ring tone noisy and distorted?
Some people like to have their phone ring very loudly, but this may cause distortion when
transferred to the Talkpad. In your phone, set up a Profile with lower ringing volumes and
keypad tones and activate when using with Talkpad. (See your phones user manual for
instructions).
3. Can I use my Talkpad with any Bluetooth Phone?
Yes, the Talkpad can be used with all Bluetooth compatible mobile phones. Check the
compatibility list on our website.
4. How do I adjust the microphone volume of the Talkpad?
1. Press and hold Mute button for 3 second to increase microphone volume. Release when
red LED appears. Talkpad will beep to confirm an increase in microphone level.
2. There are 4 microphone volume levels. You will hear a multiple beep sound if you
increase volume level to level 4.
3. If you press Mute button for 3 seconds after hearing a multiple beep sound,
microphone volume level will be reset to level 1.
5. Why will my Talkpad not connect when turned on or comes into range (10m)?
Make sure you are using the correct profile for your phone, Headset or Handsfree.
Some Nokia phones will not connect to Talkpad immediately when in range and require the
user to press the send key on the Talkpad once when in range, to establish connection.

6. Is it safe to use Bluetooth devices, I have heard they can allow unauthorized
connections?
For Bluetooth security reasons, once you have set up your Bluetooth devices we
recommend turning OFF the visibility option in the Bluetooth Menu of your phone so that
other Bluetooth users cannot see the contents of your phone. (This only applies to a few
mainly older Bluetooth enabled phones as most new phones have better security).
7. Is there an external antenna for the Talkpad?
Unfortunately there isn’t an external antenna for the Talkpad at this stage.
8. Can Bluetooth devices interfere with other devices?
Bluetooth technology employs a technique called frequency hopping to constantly change
the frequency at which it sends data, reducing interference with wireless devices like
wireless LAN’s. Noise Interference can occur if the Bluetooth device is used in close
proximity with microwave. Check if there are any such devices in the surroundings, and if so
keep the distance between Audio Player and such devices to at least 5 - 10m.
