Chapter 1. Introduction
The D&S Platform with the graphical user interface T/SOP is not part of the ProBase Store product
installer anymore. Instead it now gets provided by a separate T/SOP Retail product installer.
The current T/SOP Retail product installer for Linux operating systems bases on the Red Hat
Package Manager (RPM). RPM packages do not provide an interactive installation mode and
therefore the setup cannot be customized to user demands. Instead of this, the product installer will
always install the complete content.
All dependencies to other packages will be checked and if possible, solved by the RPM itself. The
product installer includes a Java Runtime Environment (JRE), hence there is no dependency to a
JRE.

Chapter 2. Installation
The T/SOP Retail product installer can run in silent mode but not in interactive mode.
2.1. Product installer variants
The T/SOP Retail product installer is available as 64-bit version for Windows and Linux based
operating systems. There is no 32-bit version available.
The provided product installer follow the naming scheme:
dn-tsop-retail-MAJOR.MINOR.BUILD-x86_64.rpm
Example: dn-tsop-retail-1.0.30-x86_64.rpm
2.2. Supported Operating Systems
This version of T/SOP Retail has been tested on the following Linux operating systems:
WNLPOS 4 (64 bit)
DNL 1 (64 bit)
2.3. Installation Requirements Linux
Administrator permissions are required for installation.
This product is intended to run with ProBase Store 2 and it conflicts with former ProBase
products, such as ProBase Store 1, ProBase POS, or ProBase Retail that must be uninstalled
beforehand.
2.4. Supported Java Runtime Environments
The product installer will install an appropriate Java Runtime Environment that will be used by the
service and tools provided.
2.5. Installation under Linux
The current T/SOP Retail installer is based on the RPM Package Manager, which is common on "Red
Hat" - based operating systems. Please note that RPM does not natively support an interactive user
mode.
The installation of T/SOP Retail can normally be started from the desktop with a double click on the
installation package or can be started from the terminal console by using of the following
command:
rpm -ivh dn-tsop-retail-<version number>-<architecture>.rpm

Example:
rpm -ivh dn-tsop-retail-1.0.20-x86_64.rpm
After the RPM Package Manager has resolved all dependencies, the T/SOP Retail components are
installed. The installation progress and further information will be displayed on the console or the
progress window.
NOTE The product installer will always install the complete content including the
internally used JRE.
2.5.1. Update installation
An already installed T/SOP Retail may be updated by a newer version as long as the major version
between installed version and update does not differ.
rpm -Uhv dn-tsop-retail-1.<minor version>.<build number>-<architecture>.rpm
2.6. Uninstallation under Linux
To uninstall T/SOP Retail, the RPM Package Manager is used as in the installation. The following call
on the terminal console deletes all installed T/SOP Retail components and services, even if they
have been modified subsequently:
rpm -e dn-tsop-retail-<major version>.<minor version>.<build number>-<architecture>
or just
rpm -e dn-tsop-retail
On WNLPOS 4 the system tool Software at Applications > System Tools can also be used to remove
T/SOP Retail. Search for the packages containing 'dn-tsop', uncheck the T/SOP Retail package and
apply these changes to remove the T/SOP Retail package.

Chapter 3. Logging
3.1. Logging during installation
The current T/SOP Retail installer is based on RPM Package Manager, which does not provide
additional options to log the installer activities separately. All activities of the RPM package will be
registered within the /var/lib/rpm database. This database can be queried at any time and the
output can be formatted as needed and be saved to a dedicated file.
3.2. Logging during uninstallation
Like the installation, the uninstallation has the same logging mechanism. All activities of the
ProBase Store 2 RPM package are registered or de-registered within the /var/lib/rpm database.
