a) Install the gate operator only when:
1) The operator is appropriate for the construction of the gate and the usage Class of the gate,
2) All openings of a horizontal slide gate are guarded or screened from the bottom of the gate to a minimum of 4 feet (1.2 m)
above the ground to prevent a 2-1/4 inch (57.15 mm) diameter sphere from passing through the openings anywhere in the
gate, and in that portion of the adjacent fence that the gate covers in the open position,
3) All exposed pinch points are eliminated or guarded, and
4) Guarding is supplied for exposed rollers.
b) The operator is intended for installation only on gates used for vehicles. Pedestrians must be supplied with a separate access

UNIT INSTALLATION
During the initial phase of installation, the vertical
adjustment screws should protrude by 3/16"-3/8"
(5-10 mm). in order to allow for alignment, xing of
the rack and further adjustments.
Perfect alignment with the rack is made possible
by the (patented) built-in regulation system, which
consists of:
- slots for horizontal adjustment;
- for vertical adjustment and leveling;
- plates and bolts for anchorage to the base.
ATTACHING THE RACK/LIMIT
Attach the rack to the gate as described below:
- position the rack on the pinion of the gearmotor and slide the gate manually in order
to attach the rack along its entire lenght;
- when the rack is attached to the gate, adjust the feet using a screwdriver until the play
between the pinion and the rack is correct 1/32"-1/16" (1-1,5 mm.).
NOTE : This play ensures that the weight of the gate does not rest on the unit.
If the rack is already attached, proceed directly to the adjustment of the rack/pinion
coupling.
When the necessary adjustment have been completed, fasten the unit in position by
tightening the two anchor bolts.
ATTACHING THE LIMIT TABS
- Position the limit-switch tabs (whose positions determine the limits of gate travel) on the rack.
Note: do not allow the gate to strike the mechanical stops in the open or closed positions.
GEARMOTOR RELEASE
- To open the door, turn the knobclockwise:
Then release the gearmotor with wrench A at the three-lobed pivot turning it counter clockwise.
- To re-lock the gearmotor, tighten wrench A clockwise until it is tightened, without overtightening:
the three-lobed pivot will return to its seat at the  rst movement of the operator.

4.0 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION ZBK241 UL
Caution:
- the opening of the release hatch hinders the motor’s
operation.
- before intervening inside the device, cut off power
and disconnect the batteries (if present).
The control board is powered on terminals L and N protected in
input with a 3A 250V fuse.
The control devices are low voltage (24V) and protected with a
2A 250V fuse.
The overall rated power of the 24V accessories must not exceed
40 W (1,6 A)
The work time is set at 90 seconds.
SECONDARY TYPE SAFETY SYSTEM (TYPE B1;B2)
- The photoelectric cells (non contact device) or edge (contact
device) may be connected and pre-set for:
Re-opening: during closure (2-C1): during the closing cycle if
the device detects an obstruction, it causes the gate to reverse
direction to the full open position.
Re-closing: during opening (2-C2): during the closing cycle if
the device detects an obstruction, it causes the gate to reverse
direction to the full close position.
- Partial stop: (2-C3), stop of the gate if moving, with subsequent
timer activation for automatic closing (if dip 1 is ON).
- Total stop: (1-2), gate stop, excluding any automatic closing
cycle; to resume movement, you must use the pushbutton panel
or radio-control;
NOTE: if a safety N.C. contact (2-C1, 2-C2, 2-C3, 1-2) opens,
this is indicated by the ashing of the signalling LED (see page
9 component 11);
Obstacle presence detection:
With the motor at end of limit (gate closed, open or after a total
stop command), this hinders any movement if the safety devices
(e.g. photoelectric cells) detect an obstacle (DIP 5)
Safety test function:
At every opening and closure command, the control unit checks
the efciency of the photoelectric cells (DIP 10)
INHERENT ENTRAPMENT SENSING SYSTEM (TYPE A)
Upon sensing an obstruction before reaching the full open or
closed position the unit stops and initiates the reversal of the
gate to the maximum full open or close position.
Upon sensing a second consecutive obstruction the unit stops
and the alarm system will signal for 5 minutes. Within the 5-
minute period of alarm activation, the unit requires a renewed
intended input by activating a manual wired control (push button
or key switch) connected to terminals 1-2 AND an input from
a manual wired control (push button or key switch) connected
to terminals 7-2, both intended to be located in the line of sight
the gate. The unit can also be powered off to return to normal
operation condition. All other inputs, from radio controls, cards,
photocells, loop detectors, etc, are disabled.
After the 5-minute period of alarm activation, the unit requires
a renewed intended input by activating a manual wired control
(push button or key switch) connected to terminals 7-2, intended
to be located in the line of sight the gate. All other inputs from
radio controls, cards, photocells, loop detectors are disabled.
OTHER SELECTABLE FUNCTIONS
Automatic closure:
The automatic closure timer self-powers at the opening end stop.
The changeable set time is also subject to modications due to
the intervention of possible safety accessories. This does not
happen following a complete “stop” command or in the event
of a power cut.
“Maintained Action” function:
Gate operation, keeping the pushbutton pressed (excludes the
radio-control operation);
Partial opening:
Gate opening activated by connecting the 2-3P terminals and
is adjustable by the AP.PARZ. trimmer.
With this function, the automatic closing can vary in the following
way:
1) DIP 1 set to ON “automatic closing active”:
After a partial opening, the closure time is set at 8 seconds.
2) DIP 1 set to OFF “automatic closing”:
If the TCA trimmer is set to the minimum after a partial opening,
the automatic closure count does not start.
If the TCA trimmer is set to the maximum after a partial opening,
the closure time is set at 8 seconds.
3) If during “partial opening”:
The device connected to terminals 2-C3 intervenes, the closure
time automatic is set at 8 seconds.
Pre-ashing of 5 seconds:
Both during opening and closing;
POWER green always on indicates voltage present
