4.0 INSTALLATION
1) - Pour a concrete base of at least 2ft x 2ft x
2ft deep for installation of the unit. WARNING:
MAINTAIN A DISTANCE OF AT LEAST 2 FT
FROM ANY RIGID SURFACE EX. WALL OR
POST. When pouring the base, sink the
anchoring stays and the mounting base for the
unit into the concrete.
The concrete base must be perfectly leveled
and clean from end to end. All screw threads
must be completely accessible from the surface
of the concrete base.
The electrical and control cables for the unit
must also protrude from the base.
Keep power and control cables in separate
conduits Use copper conductors only and
follow local electrical codes.
2) - Place the unit on the concrete base.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS UNIT AT A
DISTANCE LESS THAN 2 FT OF A RIGID
SURFACE (WALL OR POST) IN ORDER TO
PREVENT ENTRAPMENT.
it is good practice to install the cabinet so that
the access door can be opened from the interior
of the installation site (see on page 6).
Mount the arm as follows: first, determine the
length of arm required. Then, mount the arm
holder A with the four screws provided.
Level the vertical and horizontal Position of the
arm by regulating the stop limits B - C.
4.1 ARM BALANCING
The G6000UL is supplied with spring installed at position B (See
below).
If the final configuration of your barrier arm requires a change
in the position of the spring (see illustrations), unlock the
gear motor and change the position of the spring.
Arm Balancing is the most important step of the installation.
To reduce stress on the motor and preserve the life of the
equipment, the barrier arm should be balanced at a 45° angle.

ARM BALANCING
To balance the barrier arm precisely,
proceed as follows:
1) Unlock the gear motor (p. 5, ref. D);
2) Loosen locknut B on tension rod A;
3) Manually adjust the spring to increase/decrease its
tension until the barrier arm stabilizes at a 45° angle;
4) Now, tighten the locknut B and lock the gear motor.

This control panel is powered by 120V AC across terminals
L1 and L2, protected by a 3A fuse on the main power line.
The control systems are powered by low voltage (24V AC)
and protected by a 2A fuse.
A 10A fuse protects the motor.
The total power consumption of 24V accessories must not
exceed 40 W.
Safety
Photoelectric sensors, magnetic loop detectors or any other
safety device can be connected to the control panel to
obtain:
a) Reversal of the arm during the closing cycle.
Connect safety device to terminals 2-C1;
b) Total Stop: the movement of the barrier arm is interrupted
and the automatic closure cycle is deactivated. To resume
the movement of the barrier arm, an intended input is
required, from a pushbutton or the radio transmitter.
Connect safety device to terminals 1-2;
c)Immediate Closure: the barrier arm is lowered
automatically after the vehicle has passed the safety
devices.
Connect device to terminals 2-C5;
- Obstacle detection safety device: see NOTE;
- Fixed operating time of 20 sec.
- LB35 board, Battery backup (Use three 12V 7Ah
batteries), see page 9;
Accessories that can be connected to this unit
- Flashing signal light when barrier arm is in motion;
- Plug-in radio receiver;
- Keypads, card readers, telephone entry systems and most
other access control devices.
5.0 ZL37UL CONTROL PANEL TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Other functions
- Automatic closing: The automatic closure timer is
activated as the arm reaches the opening limit. The
adjustable timer is subject to the intervention of the safety
accessories and is deactivated after a 'total' stop, a detection
by the obstacle detection device or when power is
unavailable, Dip switch 1 ON;
- Obstacle detection: When the motor is stopped (arm is
closed, open or half-open after an emergency stop
command), the radio transmitter and the control pushbutton
will be deactivated if an obstacle is detected by the
secondary safety devices (for example, the photocells), Dip
switch 6 ON;
- “Manual Operation” (controlled by continuous pressure
of a pushbutton only), automatic closure and radio control
are disabled, Dip switch 4 ON;
- Flashing light activated before the opening and closing
cycle begins, dip switch 5 ON;
- Activation of a 24V output signal during the movement
phases and in the closed position;
- "Slave" operation when two motors are used in combination
(see page 13), Dip switch 7 ON;
- Function that increases the soft stop action on the barrier,
Dip switch 10 ON;
- Selection of command sequence: open-close-reverse;
open only, see Dip switch 2.
Adjustments
- Automatic closing time;
- Sensitivity of the inherent obstacle detection safety
system.
Important: Disconnect power and disconnect the batteries
before servicing the unit.
Note
5.1 MOTHERBOARD
The Inherent Obstacle Detection Device upon sensing an obstruction, during opening or closure and before the arm has
reached the slowdown limit switches, reverses the direction of the arm and disables the automatic closure. After the arm
has reached the slowdown limit switches it will stop and disable the automatic closure.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
It is extremely important that all parties involved in the installation and operation of the gate operator system read and
understand the following warning instructions.
WARNINGTo reduce the risk of injury or death:
1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Never let children operate or play with gate controls. Keep the remote control away from children.
3. Always keep people and objects away from the gate. NO ONE SHOULD CROSS THE PATH OF THE MOVING GATE.
4. Test the gate operator monthly. The gate MUST reverse on contact with a rigid object or stop when an object activates
the non-contact sensors. After adjusting the force or the limit of travel, retest the gate operator. Failure to adjust and
retest the gate operator properly can increase the risk of injury or death.
5. Use the emergency release only when the gate is not moving.
6. KEEP GATES PROPERLY MAINTAINED. Read the owner’s manual. Have a qualified service
person make repairs to gate hardware.
7. The entrance is for vehicles only. Pedestrians must use separate entrance.
8. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
Instructions regarding intended installation of the gate operator
a) Install the gate operator only when:
1) The operator is appropriate for the construction of the gate and the usage Class of the gate,
2) All openings of a horizontal slide gate are guarded or screened from the bottom of the gate to a minimum of 4
feet (1.2 m) above the ground to prevent a 2-1/4 inch (57.15 mm) diameter sphere from passing through the
openings anywhere in the gate, and in that portion of the adjacent fence that the gate covers in the open
position,
3) All exposed pinch points are eliminated or guarded, and
4) Guarding is supplied for exposed rollers.
b) The operator is intended for installation only on gates used for vehicles. Pedestrians must be supplied with a
separate access opening.
c) The gate must be installed in a location so that enough clearance is supplied between the gate and adjacent structures
when opening and closing to reduce the risk of entrapment. Swinging gates shall not open into public access areas.
d) The gate must be properly installed and work freely in both directions prior to the installation of the gate operator. Do
not increase the torque of the operator to compensate for a damaged gate.
e) For gate operators utilizing Type D protection (manual operation via a pushbutton):
1) The gate operator controls must be placed so that the user has full view of the gate area when the gate is
moving,
2) The warning placard shall be placed adjacent to the controls,
3) An automatic closing device (such as a timer, loop sensor, or similar device) shall not be employed, and
4) No other activation device shall be connected.
All data checked with the maximum care. However, no liability is accepted for any error or omission.
